McDavid has more points, on the ice way more at almost half the giveaways...... but sure. Gaudreau is a stud, had a great game and can do no wrong... carry on.

Players who like to have the puck and make skilled plays are likely to give up the puck more - because they have the puck more.
In an attempt to create plays and drive offence, you are unfortunately going to create opportunities against every now and then.

I went into the weekend, thinking the flames would be lucky to get one point due to the missing players and 3rd game in 4 nights. Getting 2 points last night, basically made anything today just gravy.
I hate seeing the flames lose to the oilers, but not a big deal all things considered.

^This is it exactly, BT still have some work to do. I think if our bottom 6 was just a bit stronger we would be a hard team to beat.

Not to play in the game. Im happy with a good tilly but I just don't think adding Prout and Peluso tonight as a presence really helped the team overall tonight. in fact it played right into the Oilers hand with a couple of slugs mushing around. honestly sucked. Prout sucked and Peluso was just there. That fight was lame anywho. Didn't ispire much passion honestly.

I understand we'll lose a game or two. But losing to that disgrace of an organization in s*** hole Edmonton is inexcusable. You can definitely tell it was the third game in four days, and I thought that no go call was absolutely horrendous.

Not beyond criticism, but his game wasn't perfect either; he worked his magic, but was a bit too cute, too slow - even if by 1/4 sec. and lost the puck a few times that normally wouldn't happen.
Good, tonight, but not great - and he might have had to be great for the Flames to win.

Why? And Lomberg would help in a 1-0 game?

I might be alone on this.. but I think the Oilers players hate the Flames more than the other way around. Except for Tkachuk (he is like that with everyone), I just dont think guys like Gaudreau and Monahan really care about the Oilers...

LOL, he might have been the only forward that created any offense tonight. He was busting his ass out there. He's the last guy I would criticize tonight.

I disagreed with the goal being called back, but it was a call by Toronto. That's a hockey play, can't take that out of the game.
Bennett's crease crashing penalty was one of the worst calls I've seen in a long time. A player who comes in from outside the blueline, undressing a defenceman and shooting cart's avoid the goalie in that circumstance. Unless he was to not shoot and instead take the puck to the corner. Bad, bad call.
Had a great goaltending performance tonight
|
That's a penalty every time! If McDavid did that to Rittich we would flip.
Bennett has the worst hockey IQ on the team. He is like Oiler Taylor Hall derp level. But without the points.

So now I assume they send Peluso back down, recall Lomberg and let him serve the last game of his suspension on Wednesday?

New drinking game! Whenever the Grease play, and Bob Cole is the announcer, you have to drink whenever he says McDavid. You'll be pissed in 10 minutes!

I’ve been defending James Neal all season but come on man, DO SOMETHING! Hathaway is really growing on me though. At the beginning of the year didn’t care whether he was in or out of the lineup but he’s turning into a great PKer with the odd timely goal. Perfect 4th liner.

Super weird post.
It always sucks to lose to a rival but the last thing people should do in response is overreact, especially when you consider the injuries, suspensions, and back-to-back games that this team is currently facing.
The Flames didn't play well, but have been playing extremely well now for well over a month and are one of the top teams in the conference. You can't go 82-0.
The complaining about Gaudreau, Bennett, etc., after these losses in these PGT are always cringey.

Has there been any update on Backlund? I know he’s in concussion protocol, but does that mean it’s confirmed he has one?
