Marine Charged in Haditha Massacre
http://edition.cnn.com/2006/US/12/21....ap/index.html
Quote:
Staff Sgt. Frank D. Wuterich was charged with 12 counts of murdering individuals, plus one count of murdering six people by ordering Marines under his command to "shoot first and ask questions later" when they entered a house, according to charging sheets released by defense attorney Neal Puckett.

If he's guilty the U.S. needs to throw the book at him. Explain to me how this war isn't a complete mess again.

the P2OG plan explicitly calls for organized terror against citizenry to draw out and fight the terrorists. 'stimulate reactions'
6 billion a year.
sometimes a lamb thrown to the public is necessary, even while the plans involved in this 'war of liberation' involve the very things that the perpetrators of the big crimes blame the little guys for.

that there are policies in place to sow discord and terror, but that trials like this demonstrate that they once in awhile have to throw a virgin into the volcano for public consumption.
the big crime was putting an occupying army in a foreign country in the first place, but hey, we'll just make an example of some tool for the benefit of people calling for heads.

Well whether you think they should be there or not doesn't really matter in this case does it? They smoked 15 civilians. I don't think they are sacraficing a lamb or anything.

so, where's the trial for the blackwater mercenaries caught on their own tape shooting at civilians on the highway?
oh, right. they're working privately for a neo-con owned company. my mistake.
the british SAS agents caught dressing as arabs and shooting at police checkpoints, murdering iraqi officers?
oh right, the british army broke into the jail and sprung them, killing officers in the process and releasing hundreds of prisoners. my bad.
the haditha massacre wasn't even a big deal in iraq, because it is such a small thing compared to theri daily reality.
if people really want to focus on this as an issue, then to their brain's family i send condolences.

why blame the army? they're given a job, directives and resources.
blame who put them there, and who allowed them to do it.

Sorry Looger, but Bush has nothing to do with the daily actions of the soldiers.
People need to be held accountable for their actions...whether or not we believe they are merely a tool being used in a bigger game.

i didn't say to not put the guy on trial, but MY GOD why is this a big deal?
he should go before some form of justice but he should also get in line.

Well it was a brutal killing...murder..etc...so I agree on the justice part.
What do you mean with 'get in line?'

Well maybe this is the start? Or maybe there is not enough evidence of the other crimes.

hard to imagine more evidence than guys making tapes of them murdering people.
also the mayor of basra lodged a protest with the brits and the whole incident was on BBC. hard to gather evidence greater than a destroyed police station, even in basra. well maybe their evidence room was destroyed when tanks went into the walls.
good one.

Why would they want to sow more terror and discord? Why not just go Genghis Khan on the entire country and quell the resistance once and for all?

Hey I'm not arguing with you, it was just a theory. I had honestly never heard of those other incidents. But I tend to hear "Iraq" and tune out or change the channel and whatnot. Too depressing.

why indeed.
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=31730
the official iraq is supposed to be a mess thread.
links to pentagon documents, links to evaluations by craig murray former british ambassador to uzbekistan, links to interviews with a former HIGH LEVEL (like briefing the president daily) CIA officer that thinks it's very possible black ops elements are responsible for a lot of the mosque bombings and sparking violence, and links to news of policy makers 'coming in to solve the problem' being the same people that trained death squads in central america to solve all those problems.
solving iraq's problems is contrary to the goals of the people that gain from the invasion.
why is this such an impossible concept? oh yeah, the media by and large is telling us otherwise. wonder who owns them...
