Alcohol Alternative
Quote:
Diet Alcohol Corporation of the Americas, describes Pace as legal on its website. It describes the drink as a brand-new "alcohol alternative" that packs a similar buzz to booze — with zero alcohol, calories or hangover. The company describes the active ingredient in Pace, MEAI, as a "new synthetic" that delivers "a mild inebriation along with a feeling of contentedness that curbs overconsumption and excessive drinking."

This looks like a derivative of methoxy. I had to babysit a friend once who took methoxy. It was like ecstacy on steroids. It messes with your seretonin big time.
Modern drug manufacturers are constantly slightly changing the chemical formulas of drugs to get around laws. These synthetic designer drugs tend to be very powerful. No way I'd just substitute them for beer.

Yeah, all I can say is don't be surprise if you buy something off a site like Legalchem and you end up sitting in front of your mirror at 2:00 in the morning ripping your face off.
I love the descriptor too

Yeah, all research chems have to say that, and many for good reason. Although this compound sounds interesting, but it would be nice to have FDA and some longer-term research before I would consider it.

It's an interesting angle. I mean, yes, it's obviously just a new synthetic drug, these pop up all the time, but for a company to openly try to build a legitimate business around it, that's new and could end up being a game changer.
Ultimately there's no real reason why alcohol gets such a special treatment, out of all possible recreational drugs.

The benefit of alcohol is that we know the side effects and long term damage. Not that they are good, but at least they are understood. Who know what this man made chemical could do long term.

Hard to imagine it could do worse damage than alcohol does long term, but I get where you are coming from.
I just think we shouldn't be so dismissive of these research chemicals if we are ever to get ST Synthenol that is!

Not trying to be dismissive, but if you are going to sell a chemical product for ingestion, I'd like some research done first. This is a bit of the cart before the horse. I hear gasoline can give you a good buzz, but I'm not going to do that, either.

As a related aside, there are some absolutely fascinating things going on with nootropics in 2018.

This is a drug that messes with your seretonin, and they are trying to market it as safe for regular use.
I consider myself very libertarian when it comes to drug use, but people shouldn't be purposely misinformed about risks.
