Oilers have had a fairly easy go of it over the last couple weeks, playing all these garbage teams (Kings x2, Blues, Wild). And now they get a crippled Flames team on the 2nd half of a back-to-back coming up on Sunday. Sure seems like they're getting a lot of breaks right now.

What an absolute joy to see the Ducks finally lose. F*** that team.
Tomorrow night's game vs the Preds will now be a battle for Western Conference supremacy. Pretty cool!

Prior to that first game under Hitchcock the Oilers were #11 in the West; three points out of the playoffs with a game in hand on Van in the last wildcard.
After their big win today and the 6-2-1 run, the Oilers are now #10 in the West; one point out of the playoffs with a game in hand on SJ in the last wildcard, and VGK in the #3 PacDiv slot. In that time they have passed Chicago and Vancouver, but then have also been passed by Vegas.

If Colorado doesn’t get 2 points on the road in Tampa tomorrow, the winner of the Calgary Nashville game will be #1 in the conference after tomorrow night (unless Calgary shootout win, then Nashville would still be ahead).
