To be fair to heavy Kevy if the Oilers would have acquired Corey Perry the Ducks wouldn’t have develop him and they would have sewered his career and he would have had the same explosive fire cracker career trajectory to Europe like his London Knight teammate Rob Schremp.

Willy can't even have a NMC for several more years. If things were actually contentious and the Leafs were petty and vindictive, it would be just another great narrative to my blockbuster trade scenario.
Even though a WN+OEL-Lucic+picks return seems a little underwhelming, I feel like the Oilers would be a lot closer to winning than they do with their current all eggs in one basket plan.

Pontus Aberg claimed by the Ducks off waivers from the Oilers.
23gp 9g 5a 14pts for 4th on the Ducks for points.
Would have been 4th on the Oilers for points right now tied with Klefbom.

Heatley, Danny, another Calgary kid did the same thing, though not as official, as have numerous other players spurned the Oilers since the two faced, manipulative, destructively meddling ways of Kevin Lowe came to light post Mike Comrie and post Chris Pronger. Good news for all, the goings on in Edmonton have allowed Lowe to regain the control he lost for a couple years.
https://www.nhl.com/oilers/news/oile...ander/c-429952
You can just read the rage in Kevin Lowe’s words in here, sending out an statement to Nhl.com and pursuing legal avenues (which went nowhere) is him really thinking he’s smarter then everyone so that the whole world knows his injustice. The same guy who wanted Comrie to pay back money to allow him to trade him (and missing out on Corey Perry). And his two headed coaching monster. And his offer sheet debacles. Etc.
Even though he was apparently a decent GM candidate, Lowe, out of spite like he so often does, grabbed Tambelleni out of Vancouver when the same Mike Gillis became GM of the Canucks a year or so later. Reasonable people would think that Lowe was doing it because he was the best candidate, but they don’t know Lowe. Who fired a coach via Skype to get a newer and shinier one they would prove his creative thinking.

So just to clarify, two contracts were negotiated but one was signed? And that unsigned one was greaserville? The greatest grievance is that they confirmed that they negotiated a contract and told others players about it, and yet it was never signed?
What is wrong with these idiots? Get it signed and then talk about it.
Seriously, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

So they win 3 in a row and the cup parade is back on! But they haven't gained any ground in the division.

In case you were curious, the Flames "TERRIBLE D"efense ranks second in SA/GP and ninth in GA/GP.

And dragged down in the GA/GP by a poor start to the season in goal tending.

You could swear some of their fans have never watched hockey before. Granted the Flames were sloppy last night but on the season they have been pretty good at out-chancing their opponents on a regular basis.
