People realize that Bush senior made the decision not to overthrow Saddam right? The USA invaded Iraq as part of an international coalition and only after Iraq invaded Kuwait
You are correct. People don't want to hear the whole story tho. They just want to focus on the bad all the time.
Bush Sr. Was a mix bag. He did some bad and good things.
Bush being rescued by a sub after his avenger was shot down in 1944
I don't love any US presidents but you have to give him props for serving his country and putting his life on the line. I have a lot more respect for a politician that's got his hands dirty over some of the leaders that are fed with silver spoons that have never put in a hard day's work in their life.

I find it ironic and amusing that people only seem to get bothered by shallow, rude, and obnoxious comments if they come from the left wing point of view.
Methinks CP could use a couple more left wing zealots to balance out the dozens and dozens of right wing zealots that populate this place, wouldn't you guys agree?

You should chat with the posters in the Trump thread and Alberta politics thread who complain that Calgary puck is a liberal circle jerk and figure out who is right. Perhaps most of CP is centrist and get equally bothered by left and right dog whistling.

Zealots sincerely believe in their ideas and in any means justifying getting there. In other words, zealots are idiots, but sincere idiots. icecube's posts don't appear to be too sincere. Just douc...ey.

CP was mostly to the right for a long time, then recently swung hard to the left and now seems to be drifting towards center. I assume this was a direct result of Ben Shapiro having destroyed the libtards using facts and knowledge.

I don't know if people are moving centre. I tend to think it's the wings that are moving more to the outside and it makes traditional moderate right and left wing positions appear to be more in the centre. The spectrum is becoming stretched.
There are a lot people on the right that just don't like how far right the mainstream right has moved, therefore they are critical and appear to be often taking sides with the left on many issues.
A lot of people on the left feel the same way and want to distance themselves from extreme positions. It does get tiresome how short sighted much of the left is becoming.
