Nice pick by McDavid. Should I start a video montage of the penalties McDavid gets away with?

I hope Vegas does what they did to Calgary in Jan last year scoring 3 late ones when the game is in the bag. Pretty please

That was a very Dave Cameron-esque PP by Vegas there. Yikes.

Well I guess it's a good thing that it wasn't a 3 point game with the oilers for once

Why do we care?
Edmonton is no good. When they win in regulation it is no good. When they win in the OT/SO it is no good. It is only good when Edmonton loses. Period.

I'm more happy vegas didnt get a point as the oilers have a tendency to give teams we are close to in the standings loser points

So, I guess this means with 56 games left we can expect to see Koskinen play at least 50 of those. He will be signing his patented 8 x $8 m in the summer, and the sheer exhaustion from how hard the Oilers ride their goalies will turn him back into a pumpkin by this time next year. Rinse and repeat.

He might single handedly save Chia’s job which is great news for us.

IDK a few wins but they have had an easy schedule and haven't looked all that great.
Teams usually get a bit of a boost with any new coach mid season...time will tell

They have scored 13-goals in 6 games, which includes a 4-goal explosion that occurred the first night that Hitchcock stood behind the Oilers bench.
It's not that impressive.

Holy jeez you guys. We should be thanking our lucky stars for this situation. God willing, Hitch will lead the Coilers to a low playoff seed where the Flames will absolutely wreck their fudge. I would love nothing more than to see zero hope of yet ANOTHER first overall in Shelbyville, an easy first round matchup, and all orchestrated by a coach who will be gone at the end of the season, with a chance of being replaced by Glen Gulutzan.
Like, I actually couldn’t have written a better script.

If you get impressed by watching old school trap hockey then you probably should be sorry.

In a perfect world he saves Chiarellis job. Then Chiasson scores 30 and gets signed to a big deal.

And given up 13, which is a marked improvement. I haven’t dug into the numbers or discounted a hot goalie but Hitchcock has a career of getting teams to play tighter, low-scoring games. If he can get them to do that it magnifies the game breaking skill of McDavid since each goal is more important. I feel dirty writing this but this might turn out ok for them.

McDavid has 1G, 3A, 4P, -2 in the last 5 games and has dropped to a distant 5th in the scoring race. Connor and the Edmonton faithful are only going to put up with that for so long.
