How did Lomberg look? I heard he had 8 hits or so with very limited ice time.
I thought he looked decent. Better then last years showing. That line had a few real solid shifts. I’m not sold he’s an NHLer, but I’d give him another game or two.
I can't believe that between Valimaki Kylington and Andersson, Bill Peters manages to swap around 3 rookies and not miss beat. And then, you consider Hanifin is only 21! Unreal. Not often you see an NHL team rotate 3 D rookies in and out, and it can still be considered their best D corps in years. It's so surreal to me.
This is the D corps the team has been hoping for since Bouwmeester signed. The future is so bright on the backend.!
Give credit where credit is due, Ryan Huska deserve a lot of credit for 2 of those 4 Dmen’s development while they were in the A. Him getting promoted to assistant coach was well deserved too.

Gotta give those Kings fans props. Not one comment of malice in that ATL report. Seems like they can stay classy even when their team is losing, unlike the majority of others that seem to lash out for no apparent reason with benign and petty comments at our players.

he's a plug that can skate and agitate and that's what he was and did.
His standout moments in terms of actual hockey were missing the breakout pass to Jankowski by about ten feet and taking a low IQ SOG that had Cassie Campbell calling him out on.

1. To the cackling wench in 217 and the chuckling dude on her arm: What the hell. Seriously...what the hell?!
2. James Neal is playing well, he's just not playing in an overly offensive role at the moment. This would be an issue if the team wasn't #1 in the division, but they are - so, depth for the win.
3. The Flames have played brilliant defence the last 2 games in front of Smith.
4. Kylington's play is remarkable. Our riches on the back-end are mighty impressive.

I wasn't able to catch the game tonight, but my understanding is the Flames played solid defensive hockey? The numbers certainly back that up. 5 HDCA is pretty impressive.
Game turned on a big save by Smith...he is playing next game
Smith made that big save, but I don´t see that as turning point. Flames were dominating for 60 minutes, Smith faced only 14 shots. His last two starts looked better, but it was against the Yotes and the Kings, probably worst teams in the west. I would give him the Chicago start aswell, its another fragile team, but with much better offense. If he playes great and wins 3rd in row though, I am still not gonna be sold on him turning it around. But I am really happy he did his job tonight.

Well the coach thinks that was the turning point...he made the save, Flames got a breakaway that lead to a pp where they scored the winner.
