Anyone watching Buf-TB?

Eichel just hit (cross-check) McDonough from behind, but I thought it wasn't a very hard hit. Interesting to see how they deal with it.

Edit: 2 minutes - good, they didn't panic

I'm watching, I also thought the hit was just a 2. But then again they suspended a guy for a shove a few weeks ago so who knows anymore.

Vegas will likely be a point back after tonight. 3-way tie with the ducks and sharks for second. Starting to tighten up.

Express OOT for now

Islanders at Bruins on Sportsnet and SN360

Sabres at Lightning on Sportsnet One

The rate of the games are on Centre Ice.

Laine just potted his 12th in the last 6 games. Freebee open-net rebound. 1-0 WPG over CHI

I believe that makes Laine the first 20 goal scorer this season

Man the Jets are for sure going to have to swing some major trades this summer... 23 mil in cap space next year with only 12 guys signed and Laine and Connor's contracts up (plus Trouba who will take a huge qualifying offer to retain). Those two will probably be 17-18 million of cap space alone. One of Trouba or Myers will be gone at least.

We should seriously take a look at Ehlers. Either him or Connor, as the Jets won't be able to keep all 3 of them on the payroll.

Edit: the third being Laine.

The Jets are pretty shrewd, they'll probably land 2 or 3 good young prospects or picks if they move anybody, I don't see the Flames having the kind of prospect and pick cupboard to really add anything of significance these days without touching the core of the team.

Next year's first is the only non-roster asset of any value imo. Maybe Mangiapane if a team really likes him could have some value. Rest of the farm and junior prospects are not blue chippers.

Holy, does everyone in Edmonton leave their hats on for the anthems?

They're panning the crowd and I saw 7 Oilers hats firmly planted on heads during the anthems. Classy folks.

Well, obviously I care.

I don't particularly care that we do the anthems before hockey games at all, but it's still disrespectful.

You don’t have to hate Edmonton for it.

But you have to take your hat off for the anthem.

Respecting the anthem should be an absolute requirement with an understanding what it represents along with the flag.

The whole one knee epidemic and people not giving a sh** should be conscripted and sent overseas for peace keeping duties. They'll get a hands on history lesson why it's important.

Umm, what?! How is fans leaving their hats on due to laziness in any way shape or form the same as African American athletes protesting the horrendous, often fatal discrimination their people face in their country?

Like wtf?

Bruins retired Middleton’s number tonight. Loved that guy, one of my favorites to watch growing up.

Yeah, the constitution down here carries more meaning and represents far more than a flag and anthem. The same can be said for the ideals that make up Canada, rather than some symbols.

The topics are definitely intertwined and relevant to showing respect to what people have done in years past to give society what it has today. People can protest in other ways and show respect at the same time. OOT thread so I'll leave it at that.
