Pickard: 11 games played, 4.01 GAA, 0.863 SV%.
In his last start, he allowed 4 goals on 6 shots against Toronto on Saturday and didn't even finish the first period.
Now, he'll likely get reclaimed by the Leafs and sent to the AHL.

I doubt he is any better.
Pickard is one of those guys living off his top prospect reputation from 4 years aog.

Teams willing to give up a 1st for Howard seems crazy, as would a bidding war.

Didn't realize that Raanta went on the IR as well as Kuemper. Makes sense for the Coyotes.
Edit - TSN says say to day for Raanta. Still, makes sense.

If Valentin Zykov manages to clear waivers, what would people think about the idea of trading James Neal (5*5.75M) for Scott Darling (3*$4.15M), Zykov (2*$0.675M) and Buffalo's 2nd round pick?
Would this be an example of a lack of patience and trading a player before giving him a fair chance? Or would it be an excellent way of getting rid of a bad contract before it becomes a real problem?
I would do it.

I wouldn’t. Darling is worthless and Zykov is nothing special.

nope. People REALLY need to get over the idea of trading Neal. suck it up, he's here for a while. Patience. seems few have it. Sooner people come to terms with the fact that James Neal is here for a few years, the better it's going to be for the overall mental health of the community.
And Darling is hot fiery garbage. We want to lynch Smith on the daily and want to bring in this guy? Yeesh.

Also do people not remember who coached the Hurricanes last year?
Can't imagine he'd be thrilled with that deal.

For everyone that doesn't know how to embed tweets, you take the tweet # in this case its 1067848156782702592 and put [tweet] and [ /tweet] around it.

On paper it definitely comes off as a panic trade. The kind we really shouldn't be making considering we're still 1st in the Pacific with 1-2 games on hand.
I give James Neal the same amount of 'give it time' as I did Troy Brouwer - two full seasons.

I have a hard time believing Talbot will get traded without a proven backup going back in return. I think that Johnson from the blues would make some sense. Hard to imagine that the Flames would be in on this... if the rumour is true.

I wouldn't discount that they may kick his tires in free agency but I don't see the Flames and Oilers working out a mid-season trade.

No matter what a goalie would have to go to the Oilers and I just don't see any one taking Mike Smith on. My guess is they will want a young guy or a decent goalie with a good contract and term.
