Maybe those high scoring recent games kind of went to their head that they don't need to outwork opponents. Kind of concerning with the race for the top 3 spots in the division getting a little tight as 1.5 or 2 weeks of poor play like this and they could be looking at the playoffs from the outside.
If I was an armchair psychologist I'd think that in Vegas the Flames were smug about their previous drubbing of the Knights. And last night they felt overconfident due to their last game, plus watching the Stars be horrible the night before. They underestimated a team with Radulov, Benn, Seguin and Spezza, who can always pull a good night out of their pocket.

Ok that was pretty good. Seguin actually seems like a fun-loving guy, not too serious. To engage fans like that in warm-up, even at the cost of a beer, is likable.

Did he say 'I'm sorry' right before he hit the boards? Classic.

judging by some of the instagram videos it wouldn't be surprising if half the team was hungover after partying with the stamps...

you could tell me that monahan didnt dress for the game and I would probably believe you.

Spilling good beer is a cardinal sin

Seguin needs to answer for his crimes

Johnny, Mony and Neal are all leaving the zone early, that's why when they are together, they can never get anything going because they can't get the puck.

Maybe Lindholm between Gaudreau and Neal is the better fit. Then have Monahan with Tkachuk and Bennett. Tkachuk and Bennett are willing to get their hands a little bit more dirty in the defensive zone.
I would have left the top line alone. I don't think Tkachuk has much chemistry with Johnny and Monahan (this also applies to the powerplay).

The second line wasn't good at all. So I was fine that Peters changed it. But I might have just thrown Frolik back with Backlund and Tkachuk and maybe sent Neal, Bennett and someone else out - Ryan, Dube or Czarnik (or maybe even Hathaway who was skating hard).

I love the Rittich stick toss. For those who weren’t at the game, the stick didn’t come anywhere close to the refs and was clearly thrown downwards towards the ground in frustration. I doubt he’ll be fined for it.

That can't be likeable at all. At the cost of a beer at the Dome, he owes her one months rent/mortgage!

Not surprised, Gaudreau and Monahan tend to look sluggish in the same games.

I'm surprised they were parting with the Stamps. Pre-game they didn't even look like they liked them.

I can imagine the conversations. Johnny to CFL wide receiver: ""You make how much????? You also have to work where????? They can just release you and not pay you???? Lemme buy that beer"

I think he definitely has chemistry with Gaudreau and pretty sure with Monahan too. Not enough time together as a trio to be sure.

Gaudreau and Tkachuk are probably the two highest skilled players on the team and from what I can see they make a ton of plays together.

If there is a knock on that trio it would be foot speed IMO.

Are you talking about on the broadcast when they were brought out for the anthems? That's game time for the Flames, they're in the zone. A lot of Stamps and Flames players hang out quite often when their seasons overlap.

They sure didn't look like they were "in the zone" for the first two periods.

Some of the Flames worst played games of the season that I can remember:
Road game in Manhattan
Road game in Montreal
Road game in Vegas
Home game after hanging out with with Grey Cup winning Stamps

Let’s hope we meet Winnipeg in the playoffs.
