if this was the last couple of years, the stars would have run away with it super early. instead they stayed in it and managed to get a point out of a game they looked terrible in the majority of the time. and rittich is awesome

Just heard on the Fan that Giordano has 8 multi point games this season already.. he had 4 in total last year which inspired this meme.

I commend Rittich's passion but if that were called no-goal against the flames I would've gone full Gulutzan and thrown a stick into the stands. I think he lost the play and was sliding too far in the first place, and had Benn simply glided through the crease without vaguely brushing him you get the exact same outcome.

Ever tried the flames wine? They partnered with an okanagan winery... found it in Kelowna, damn near undrinkable

Pretty bad game from the 2nd defence pairing.
Johnny and Mony fought the puck for much of the game as well.

Very little in terms of intense forecheck and backcheck until the 3rd. Sharp contrast to last week's 1st periods where it felt like we were beating every player to the puck and winning every board battle.

In sole possession of first place in the division with games in hand on everyone. I'll take it. Lot of less than formidable opponents coming up until christmas. If we are to be contenders, this upcoming stretch is where we separate ourselves from the bubble teams. Crap that we didn't win, but it's exciting times!

The team did not come to play. Not scoring with 6 PP mins in the first was where we lost our major opportunity to put the foot on the throats

TBH, I feel like a good amount of Gio's points this season are just him passing to Gaudreau on the PP.

Full marks for the goal though, it was vintage Backlund-Brodie-Giordano, those three have been doing this since 2014.

When Dallas scored on the first shot I knew it was going to be one of those games. Is it just me or when Rittich gets all firey he gets off his game. I thought he was chasing the game for stretches. You can hate Smith, but man is it an eye opener trying to watch other goalies try to play the puck.

extremely frustrating that 'one of those games' happens so much against the ####ing stars. they're not good and were down 3 defenders. they barely manage to score more than 2 goals a game away. they were shut out by edmonton last night. i bet they don't score more than 2 goals against vancouver on saturday. watching the tying goal bounce in off a shinpad and then the entire team fall flat on their face in ot leaves a terrible taste

I wouldn't blame Rittich for the loss

I find this a strange comment. Gio is great at creating lanes with his play along the blue line at even strength and PP. He is creating opportunities for Gaudreau. It's not like he's just dumping it off. My eye test show me he's doing heavy lifting.

The Stars have some elite players. Made the Flames pay for mistakes. Radulov was a beast. I saw Flames D back off him several times at his ownblue line. Flames had their chances.
Rittich gave them a chance to win but wears the goat horns on that OT misadventure.

I agree to a point, I do think he misplayed the puck in OT that started the sequence. Overall the team as a whole didn't play well.

That was tough one to lose. Rittich was definitely interfered with (albeit incidentally), but I can also see the point that he had just enough time to get squared again.

The interference probably threw Rittich off mentally a little, but physically, he was back in position when the goal was scored. The sad thing is that a goalie with less quickness to get back in position, would have likely had an advantage in selling the interference as a factor.

I think there was enough there to let the call on the ice stand, as when things are questionable, the call on the ice is the default position.

Sometimes you get the calls in your favour, and sometimes you don't. C'est la vie.
