2 add to the above 2 posts. So often we as fans are out of the loop or can only speculate what's right/wrong with the team. It now seems more than obvious that GG was a big part of what was wrong. How can we not talk about it, and vent our frustrations! Really 2 wasted years (thanks gg you jackass!) kind of warrants more than 2 months of discussion/venting!

I believe the reason we are still talking about this is the fact that the Calgary Flames are presently a truly dangerous hockey team with a roster not too different from the year where they were not a truly dangerous hockey team, with players who were especially not dangerous now being especially dangerous. Ergo, last season vis a vis to this season is in stark contrast. The blatancy of this immediate shift bears investigation, and the most thrilling conclusion that many of us have arrived to upon our investigation, which may or may be nothing more than confirmation bias, but for a fan of an ice hockey team objectivity is not truly necessary, and therefore that which is arrived at is that Glen Gulutzan is No Good, while I Like Bill Peters.

A few spent a very long time defending GG. And that's ok. But they were quite condescending about it, as if we were rushing judgement or didn't see the whole picture etc.
Some people saw a dud half way through the first season. They were right all along. GG was a terrible coach here full stop.
What is interesting is that people here dugged their heels for a guy that had no track record. Why? I can at least understand why some like the Hitch hire up north, he at least has a resume. But GG? He was a wannabe.
And before we hear again that Peters has a much better team. Troy Brouwer has 2 less goals than Neil, Ryan, Dube and Czarnik combined. I consider Ferland and Lindholm a wash. So no, the new forwards are not making that much of a difference at all. Some are disappointing to say the least.
Oh and I am not annoyed with this conversation. I quite enjoy it.

this team's performance in the first quarter of the season just really highlights Gulutzans flaws. This forum is full of passionate fans, it's hardly surprising to me that people vent about two wasted years under a terrible coaching staff.
they almost ruined a fine top pairing defenseman. They did their best to neuter the highest draft pick this organisation's ever had. They played boring hockey that sucked the life out of players and fans alike. They had terrible special teams and underachieved in every sense of the word. The HC is now an Oiler. No good.
