A breakdown of the 3rd SH goal from Janko. What horrendous defense from the yotes
Can’t stop watching this. Imagine if you were a Yotes fan.
It appears Janko is the only Flames player in the offensive zone throughout the whole sequence. Has anyone seen a wide angle to confirm this? Certainly no one below the face off dots.
Four Coyotes made contact with Janko at one point or another trying to win the puck and the fifth was within three feet when Janko made his way alone to the front of the net (but instead of defending he curled away).
The photo of Janko pinned behind the net by two guys with two more on either side of the post and no Flame in the picture is an all time ‘this guy scored’ winner.
Love this goal but man o man that was putrid defending. That Rick Tocchet didn’t get arrested for manslaughter shortly afterwards is a minor miracle.

That was the funniest "one man army" Flames goal I've seen since Dion Phaneuf deked through the entire Minnesota Wild team to score on a breakaway (wtf) with a telegraphed one handed backhand top shelf.

GG destroyed a kid who was formally an elite defensive pairing in the NHL and CP made him the constant whipping boy in every thread until recently. Two years of hell for TJ, his wife, and his family and friends when they had to read about how much the fans hated him and how horrible he was. Peters saw his potential and knew he could get back to being spectacular, but the fans were fickle, and two years of saying 'good riddance' to TJ grants him a little recognition that he in fact, was never garbage. He wasn't perfect, but he wasn't trash.
Oh, and one more thing.. like it or not...
Boooo Yaaaaaa CP- I still love you all!
With any forum that is the nature of the beast, some good posters and a handful of reactionary posters with little, or no patience. We just have to keep at it, growing, learning.
Your post is a big lesson! We have had 2 maybe 3 players now that some fans elected to throw under the bus repeatedly . This has gone on for almost 2 seasons.., "longer in some cases"; Some posters insisting the players were a complete bust and had no value. Some of it hateful, hurtful but a lot of it inaccurate, inconsiderate and uncalled for. Unfortunately we probably never hear apologies from many or most of them; And a lot of times stuff that you would never say to that persons face, because you know it was just hurtful.
Now we see how much of an impact a proper coach can have on certain individuals. And to think there were some on here who "completely" gave up on Brodie. Thanks for not being too hard on us, there are a lot of people here who really do appreciate Brodie and would like nothing better than to see him lift the "Cup". We have a great group of young guys with lots of talent, and Brodie being a veteran player, and leader is exactly what this team needs.

Is it just me or does the goal horn sound better and the ice gets more red after the goal than now?
Yeah they did something to our horn around when the rebuild began and it doesn't have the presence it did during the Iggy era. Don't know what they did to it but it was a dandy back then, up with the best in the league along with (imo) Dallas and Nashville.
Montreal, Edmonton and Anaheim are among the worst.

I agree with you in part here, but I just have to say that in 99% of the cases, it's not the person that is under attack, but the player, and it's two very different things. Of course it may be hard for the person to distinguish between the two at times, but you have to learn to be able to do that in that situation. I am pretty sure that no one on here has suggested that it's the the person TJ Brodie, or Troy Brouwer, or Matt Stajan, or Sam Bennett, or Mike Smith that sucks.
I have been in a situation where I've been somewhat of a public figure for a time, and the part of having people you don't even know forming opinions about you or your craft and sharing them with the world (as well as confronting you about it) is certainly not great, but what I found out was that if you can't stomach it, if it's hell as you said, you can just walk away and it ends. If you don't want to walk away from your dream or whatever you are doing, you just have to separate yourself from the negatives, suck it up and power through it, and since that is what TJ has done, all respect to him. Everyone in a public line of work struggles with this at times, and it's always good to see people come out on top.

Sounds like something a former Gulutzan defender would say.
What a dooshy comment.
edit: To clarify: Jiri stated his reasons for the comment, which on their own are quite reasonable. SebC's comment seems like an unnecessary "I told you so" type of drive-by, poking at his perception of Jiri's support for GG.
