No they are serious. It's what they actually think. That's why I posted as it's crazy how out of touch they are.

The only poster on that board that has a little bit of common sense is GreatKeith. The guy knows the Oilers are a pile of crap, and he's not afraid to share his opinion.

No they really are clueless and if you oppose them the rudeness is really quite extraordinary

I kinda have always followed the USA Today Sagarin Ratings. They are a computer based rankings of the NHL, althought they also do NFL, NCAA, NBA, etc.

https://www.usatoday.com/sports/nhl/sagarin/

The Flames have moved up to 6th in the NHL, where Edmonton is the 19th.

Flames have played the 10th hardest schedule. The Oilers, 2nd hardest.

9 out of 10 HF Oiler fans really believe they have a good team. 9 out of 10 wear sweats also.

Doug MacLean says one of the motivating factors for the Oilers acquiring Wideman was that their analytics guys say the team isn't good enough at making stretch passes.

Glen Gulutzan effect in effect.

I dont see how Wideman is going to help.

Did they acquire him so that he could wander the wilderness in search of someone who can make a stretch pass?

Wait... Dennis Wideman was really good at stretch passes. Did they actually trade for the wrong Wideman!

I don't really understand what those numbers mean. If I'm reading it correctly, Vancouver has had the hardest schedule with a 4.16 rating and Minnesota has had the easiest at 3.91. That means that the difference between the hardest and easiest schedule is 0.25 (out of ?).

Without having a better understanding of what the numbers mean, that difference seems negligible.

Also great at handing out stretcher passes.

Just watching a bit of the Coilers Ducks game and they are trotting out a line they are calling "The Identity Line".

On this line, the line to define the identity of the Coilers, is Lucic, Kassian and Brodziak.

So the question is.... What is the Coilers Identity? Overpaying lousy hockey players? Too slow with no skill? IQ in double digits? Fugly caveman?

So no good.

I believe the name of that line reflects the fact that those three are most likely to steal your identity.

Love it. Coilers beating Anaheim with 17 seconds left. At 16.4 the Ducks score to tie it, then score again to win it 14 seconds into overtime.

Oh, Oilers!

Stupid Oilers. Two 3 point games in our division. Stop it and lose properly.
