Funny thing about Hitchcock and coaching a for a long time... #3 most wins as an NHL Coach #11 MOST LOSSES.

It should be fun to watch him climb the ladder.

21 losses to catch Dick Irvin, 22 to catch Pat Quinn, 25 to catch Mike Keenan, & 26 to catch Joel Quenneville. But don’t put the 48 losses to catch Lindy Ruff out of reach for the suckiest suckers who ever sucked.

He should easily be 7th by the end of the year, maybe even the 6th.

I'd love to see how this was calculated. Having by far the most games facing teams on night 2 of back to backs certainly wasnt factored in. Probably far too much weight put on the Europe trip.

Doesn't matter anyways, the Oilers are going to miss the playoffs for the 13th time in 14 years, nothing is going to change that at this point. Conor mcidiot can score 2 ppg and the team is still too terrible to make it. How does it feel to languish in such futility? I frankly pity all of you Oilers fans.

Gotta love those HF morons going on about the Flames "lack of depth".

"4 players have 60% of the goals"

That's 1/3 of our offensive corps. How is this lack of depth? This is most likely in line with the NHL average if not more spread out. Flames are also the only team to have more than 5 players with 20 points.

Those guys really live in a special kind of reality.

I don't think it's very difficult to calculate as it's probably based on opponents winning percentage. The Flames and Oilers schedules are typically similar because geography and the main difference is that the Flames have played games within the Pacific division. The Oilers only recently started playing games within the division which has been bad so as they play more games against Pacific division foes that strength of schedule should drop. At the end of the day the Oilers still get the most teams on the 2nd half of back to backs than any other team in the league so I'm at a loss why their fans could complain about the schedule they got.

Opponents winning percentage is a bit skewed right now as well, because some teams have played above their heads, but will finish out of the POs, and vice versa.

Never mind opponents. In the first half of the games so far, the Flames were travelling constantly, because they never had an extended home stand. That's a tough schedule.

This isn't the NFL where the schedule changes annually with rotating division and out of conference matchups where the strength of schedule can vary greatly year to year. In the NHL getting into opponents winning percentage is excuse talk because every team in the division ends up playing the same teams over 82 games.

It's the Lays Lead Paint Chips they live on up there. Bet you can't eat just one!

Seriously, the Oilers have three players over 10 points - McDoofus, Drysaddle, and The Tenderness - compared to the Flames six - Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Monahan, Giordano and Backlund. Tkachuk has been in on 27 of our 75 goals, or 36% of the offense. McDip#### has been in on 31 of the 69 goals they've scored or 45% of their offense.

Oiler fans are the result of when brothers and sisters have children together.

Flames and Oilers schedules are pretty similar. The biggest difference is the back-to-backs. The Oilers have had the advantage to date. Oh, and the Oilers do naturally have a tougher schedule than every other team in the NHL - they don't get to play the Edmonton Oilers.

The worst part is that the grease are almost certainly going to make the playoffs.

LA, Anaheim, Vancouver, and Vegas are all complete trash.

It's going to be a suck-off between the grease and the yotes for the 3rd divisional spot. Arizona isn't complete garbage like the oilers are but they've never had meaningful games with their core, and will probably falter down the stretch.

I'll be cheering for Arizona all year.

Well yeah...especially when your top 3 centres all play on the same line!

"The strength of our team is the one line that can score. If we need goals it has been proven that they are the only ones who can score them, so we need them on the ice all of the time. This is my brilliant plan. It is not at all exactly the same as McLellan's plan. Only visually better.

Never count out the Ducks. They will make the playoffs as they always start slow only to have one of the best records in the league in the 2nd half of the season.

On the bright side, that means Chiarelli gets to keep his job

I have hope for AZ to knock the Oilers out of the POs. That would be sweet for many reasons, including that fact I bet so many Oil fans think of the Coyotes as league doormats.

The one good thing I will say is that most fans city wide have actually started coming to terms with reality the last couple of seasons. The playoffs had emboldened them but the failure last year and the start this year has really crushed morale. I get very few beaks compared to seasons past. Cant blame the hf crew too much for desperately clinging to any possible spread of hope, however faint.

Easing HF since Saturday has been pretty entertaining that delusional fan base is so twisted up about Tkachuk and the fans have just brutal arguments. I am glad I don’t have a HF account because I could get into it with those clowns all day long.

They try and talk like we have been rebuilding the same amount of time. The Flames pulled the pin in 2013 and in the 5 seasons since have 2 playoff appearances and acquired 3 top 6 picks with bad seasons. The Oilers pulled the pin in 2010 and even going back to 2007 in the past 12 drafts they have picked in the top 10 an astonishing 10 times including 4 1st overall pick. By all accounts they should be miles ahead of many teams in the league yet they still resemble a tire fire with really one truly awesome player.

I hope they drop a couple quick ones under Hitch here because I want to continue to see them burn

The Ducks have the same percentage of points (23 in 23) as the Oilers (21 in 21) despite having struggled with injuries.

Getzlaf has missed 5 games, Fowler has missed the last 4, Kase has missed most of the season, as has Eaves (he might just be done at this point).Kesler missed some games, as did Silfverberg. Now Lindholm is hurt.

And of course Perry hasn't played yet.

Might be a team that has a bad record up until March but then comes in firing on all cylinders if everyone gets healthy including Perry. Especially if Perry's recent drop off in play was due to his MCL and it's fixed up.

The Ducks are still the one team I'd want to avoid as much as possible in the playoffs. There is just something about that team, they always have our number.

Anaheim is at a 44.2 ES CF% right now. Just as we are seeing Vancouver fall back to earth, I expect the same thing to happen to the Ducks.

For reference, the Flames finished 2014-2015 with a 45.0 ES CF% which is the lowest I've seen a team make the playoffs with.

It would be awesome to see Coiler fans have to cheer for Calgary wins over Anaheim, when their race for the last wild card unfolds.
