I wonder if Q is waiting for Yzerman to go to Detroit and he'll join ranks as their Coach.

Makes sense. It was just 2 or 3 playoff runs ago that Hitchcock and the Dallas Stars owned the Oilers LOL

It sure as hell IS NOT "doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result", if that's where you going with that.

Yeah, just click the coach history tab next to active. It's not the great interface.

Three million a season ending next season, so it's actually 5.25 million to not coach the Oilers. Even better gig!

Yeah but that’s more a metaphor than definition.

The definition is the definition, Einstein didn’t define it.

The spin is great. It must do wonders for players like McDavid who can now tell themselves they have a coach who won the cup when he was two years old.

That reads like a tombstone of coaching careers. How many of those ex Oilers coaches have gone on to another NHL head coaching job?

Where do I sign up for this?

Millions of dollars to accomplish nothing sounds fantastic!

No, he really didn't.
Quote Investigator: There is no substantive evidence that Einstein wrote or spoke the statement above. It is listed within a section called “Misattributed to Einstein” in the comprehensive reference “The Ultimate Quotable Einstein” from Princeton University Press.

It's stupid and wrong, and meaningless. Stop perpetuating it! For future reference, this is the definition of insanity.

The fact they put an interim tag on Hitch right away (but not during a coaching search) tells the players that if they don't like him he's easy to get rid of.

Einstein likely never said this.
Quote:
Where did this saying come from? It's attributed to Albert Einstein (probably not), Benjamin Franklin (probably not), Mark Twain (probably not) and mystery writer Rita Mae Brown (probably so) who used it in her novel Sudden Death. It's not clear who said it first, but according to at least one blogger it's "the dumbest thing a smart person ever said." The catchy saying has gathered steam in the past few years (example I, II, III), and regardless of the source, it's gotten a lot of mileage.

Anyway I look forward to a bewildered Hitchcock game after game.
