Walked into a superstore Sunday near close and they had three PS3's in their electronics section (2 20GB, 1 60GB). They had been sitting there since Saturday afternoon. Talked to guys at my local Future Shop and they are seeing the same things...while they are selling the ones they get they are sitting on the shelves a little long for their liking.
It is nothing like the 360 was. When i got my 360 near the end of February there were stil 15-20 people lining up every day outside Future Shop trying to get one. and whiel that was due to supply problems the supply was larger than the PS3 supply right now and beyond launch week they haven't seen lineups.
I actually know a guy who went into a Wal-Mart 10 days ago and saw 3 20 GB PS3's sitting on the shelf. He bought all 3 and sold 2 of them within 3 hours at a big enough profit to cover the cost of the third plus games/accessories.
He has since sold the third one as used and put the money towards a HD-DVD player plus games for his 360 and Wii.
But yeah those prices on e-bay are really really low. The demand for it just doesn't seem to be there. Saw one auction end today for a PS3 with 2 games at $580. Several the last few minutes ending with bids lower than the purchase price and not having the reserve met.
