Default Great Bargain on Coke @ Wal-Mart

Hey folks,

Normally, I'd only post something like this on RFD. But, this is a deal everyone should know about.

24 Packs of Coke (and Sprite, Canada Dry Ginger Ale) are $4.97 at Walmart right now! There is no quantity limit.

That is the cheapest price I have seen in maybe 3 years. I REALLY stocked up.

This was at the Westbrook Walmart here in Calgary; I am not sure if it the same deal applies at other Walmarts.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, because it was of little interest to me, that they have skids and skids of the 2L Canada Dry: Regular, Lemon, Cranberry, and the blue label one (can't remember what it was, maybe tonic or soda water) all for $0.67.

I picked some up at Superstore (here in Ontario) and it was $2.49 for 12.

Wal-Mart isn't unionized either, support your local Superstore instead.

So what your saying is one should only support unionized companies?

I would rather spend my money on West jet rather than Air Canada.

Why on earth would I support a company just because they are unionized??

Jack Layton is that you?

Was the place called Superstore or was it Loblaws?! Because if its Loblaws, I live on Carleton Campus and I can easily get to the keys to pick some up.. I'm in dire need of some.

The Superstore union is horrible....they have high rates and don't really do anything for the employee. Worst of all, you have no say in whether you are in the union or not....if you arent, you cant work there.

Aww, crap, what gave me away? It was the moustache, wasn't it?

When I personally have a choice between company A and company B, and the only difference is one is unionized and one isn't, I choose the unionized one. I support unions, workers' rights, labour standards, etc. If you don't, whoop a dee doo!

I think it's funny that Wal-Mart will close stores when their workers decide to unionize because apparently their prices will go up, but Loblaws always beats their prices and they are unionized...

Meh, I just hate Wal-Mart, plus Superstore is Canadian.

Or, if you don't care about whether it's unionized or not, there are about a hundred other reasons to avoid that place like the plague.

Back on fn topic.

That is a pretty good deal, if I'll have to load up on some Ginger Ale before I head home for the Holidays.

That's pretty much the case for any unionized company. The only places that allow what you are saying is 'Right to work' states. The last time I checked these States have the lowest wages so it's really the right to work for less which is why big business is all for it.

You do realize that employees are the ones who choose whether to have a union or not don't you? I work for Bell and everyone voted down the proposition of a union because half of us used to work at Telus and hated the one there. Plus I get way better benefits with Bell than I did with Telus, so explain how unions ensure workers' rights again.
