I said it last year on here. The teams that succeed against the Oilers are the ones that mistreat McDavid. The Ducks always do it. In the Gulutzan era it was like we were in awe of him. Not last night.

The trade most likely would end up being Puljujarvi, Larsson, 2019 first round pick for Nylander.

Oilers sign him to a 7.5M contract and have a first line of a combined 28.5M and no defence. Edmonton would still be no good.

Exactly! I always wondered why teams shy away from him. Get in his face and make his life a living hell on the ice without injuring the guy.

To me, McDavid might have a generational skill set because of his speed.

But he doesn't have a generational mind set. I actually think he's pretty gutless.

I wouldn't want to spend 12.5 million on a guy who's leadership style is a tap on the shoulder and a lets go quote, meanwhile he wasn't great in the Oilers playoff run and he vanishes in tough games.

Stauffer is embarassing himself. Lose with a little bit of class for crying out loud instead of being a baby. Maybe he should be asking why the Oilers didn't draft Tkachuk instead of the guy playing in the minors.

There are/were Captains that back their s*** up when doing stuff like tackling players to the ground.
Here's a couple.

Oh here's another two.

Don't get in the mix or stop crying. Watching last night I actually think McDavid's getting pretty close to finding himself in a situation he doesn't want to be in without much of a "superstars" excuse.

Either that or hes having a stroke. Someone might want to check on him.

That's what I'm thinking too. It was pretty much the same last night as it was against Tampa where he also entered the scrum pulling on jerseys and mucking it up. The guy needs to back off or back it up, because doing what he's doing he's fair game, and one of these games he will find himself in a fight, whether he likes it or not.

Now, I know Bennett probably wouldn't force this guy to fight him, but the way he swung back around to McDavid during the late scrum, finding him alone and starting to face wash him away from the general scene makes for a somewhat legitimate setting to drop the gloves. Man would I love to see that happen.

Bennett held his own against Nurse. Bennett v McDavid would not be a good scene for McDingle.

Bennett is slowly getting the reputation of a guy you don’t wanna fight. He’s held his own against some much bigger opposition and he puts everything behind his punches. If he fights a guy his size that guy better know how to fight.

lol i saw an Oilers fan on Hf say they should move the Nuge to the top line and stack it up. This would be their bottom 9 then:
 caggiula-spooner-chiasson
 lucic-brodziak-kassian
 khaira-marody-russell

Nuge-Rattie were the top line to start the year.
Hopefully Kassy and Lucy get tuned up by Reaves tonight.
