I don't mean to be insulting, but Lance Bouma had a similar impact in 2014-15. His intensity and shot blocking really helped the team rally that year. Of course they are different caliber of players, but Bennett has similarly been able to inject life into the team repeatedly this season.

Bouma never played on the second line, and neither should Bennett.
Neal needs to get going, he's the guy that should be playing with Backs and Chucky.

Bennett is finding a role for himself on the team... while he might not be the goalscorer people projected, he's a guy that plays with an edge... And Calgary needs that kind of player...
he's the kind of player that excels in the playoffs.

Conspicuously so. Not sure if he just had a bit of a floating game, or the Flames fully shut him down. Hope it was the latter, but the guy was a non-factor for the first time ever in a BOA.

Cannot say enough about Sam Bennett this year. One thing I do want to say, you win with guys like Bennett when you get to the dance. He'll score some goals. But I feel like if/when we get to the playoffs, this manliness he's bringing is going to transalate to massive success in may/june.

Neal played well tonight - I could see it happen. The trouble is that with Lindholm on wing, there's only two centres with any passing skill. So Bennett and Neal are going to be competing all year for that spot.

When the Oilers called timeout and I saw Gulutzan behind their bench, I knew it was in the bag.
I also like how McDavid tried to be tough against Backlund... some generational grit right there. So cute.
