It feels great. I could eat nails.
I never tried them things.
What?
I never had snails. I seen them in the garden, but I never wanted to eat them.
I didn't say anything about snails. - I said, "nails,"

I have a question about the first Rocky, that's been bugging me.
Are we intended to know that Apollo won the fight? Or go away not knowing? I re-watched the end a couple times lately, and they announce it was a split decision, then give one judges score who gave his decision to Apollo. They show Apollo cheer that one decision, then cut to Rocky and Adrian being all emotional, then it ends.
They tell us in Rocky II that Apollo won, but I don't see how you can get from the first one that he won. Am I missing something?

If you listen to the announcer, he says that they have a split decision. He then goes on to list the decisions of each judge. This is in the background during the emotional stuff between Adrian and Rocky. The announcer then goes on to say that Apollo is still the heavy weight champion, thus implying that Rocky has lost the fight and Apollo has won.
The reason why there is so much excitement around Rocky and not so much emphasis on who won is because the focus is on Rocky having gone the distance with Apollo. No one prior to Rocky had been able to give Apollo Creed more than 12 rounds. Before the fight, Rocky says he doesn't think he can win, but he just wants to go the distance and give him more than 12 rounds. That was his goal and he did that. Hence the focus on that aspect and not the actual outcome.
I hope that answers your question. If not, feel free to respond with questions or concerns.

From Rocky VI:
Rocky: It ain't over till it's over.
Other guy: Is that from the 80's or somethin?
Rocky: I think it's from the 70's.
(I wish he was going to fight Bullwinkle. They would have a much better title...)

It mentions in the first one that if Apollo gets the split decision, he keeps the title by default.

Do you mean this little diddy?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJOEA56y7qA
And btw, best Rocky song ever is from this montage, earlier in the same movie, from right after Apollo dies and Rocky has to go think about life in his Ferrari: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htKpqgaPD9E
Rocky IV was the greatest Rocky ever. Only Rocky could go train in the hinterlands of the Soviet Union in the dead of winter, and come back with a tan...
Goddamn I love the 80's

I actually love the music to Rocky IV to the best, it was composed by Vince Dicola and the piece of music actually called "Training Montage" is the best to run or work-out to...and so is the War theme.
I can't believe Vince won a Razzie for worst soundtrack. Rocky IV is one of the best soundtracks in history. At least it has creativity and variety and just great anthems with a mix of the old Rocky theme, orchestra music, synthesizers, and 80s rock.
Modern film soundtracks are all boring and all the same.

I agree. I love the music from Rocky IV and the other Rocky movies. It's cheesy good music. Like I said, I have a few of them on my Ipod. I listen to it a lot, especially when I work out. It always gets me really pumped up. It's good stuff, underappreciated really.

Yo Apollo. I was just thinking. Maybe it's not so much youse against Drago. Maybe it's more like youse against youse.
[ Apollo's funeral]
Rocky: There's a lot I could say about this man, but I don't know if it matters now. I guess what matters is what he stood for, what he lived for, and what he died for. Youse always did everything the way youse wanted it. And I didn't understand that, but now I understand. I'll never forget youse, Apollo. Youse the best."
Rocky: During the fight, I've seen a lot of changing, in the way I feel about youse, and the way youse feel about me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if I can change, and youse can change, everyone can change.
[ loud applause, even by the politburo]

I think somebody was asking about Rockys wife in the movie.
I believe she passed away in real life.

You mean the actress who played Adrian died in real life? Talia Shire isn't dead. She went to the premiere of this movie so unless she died in the last couple days...

Woah...I was listening to something on the radio about this movie and how she wasn't in the movie b/c of that.
Sorry, I should have concerned something so serious, but that's what I heard on the radio segment. STUPID RADIO!
Or aybe I misheard them and she "dead" in the movie already.
I wonder why she's not int he movie then.

I wasn't trying to jump down your throat or anything, just saying the woman ain't dead so that's not why she is dead in the movie.
I imagine she has died in the movie, simply as a way to prompt Rocky to get back in the ring. Like, maybe he's bored now that he doesn't have Adrian OR he doesn't have her keeping him from getting back in the ring... Again, I am not really sure why she is dead in the movie, as I haven't seen it yet... these are just ideas.

Maybe they just didn't want her to give Rocky some sense of moving on or more lonlieness or just to give his son more screen time.
It's too bad they didn't use his real son again like in Rocky VI. He's not a bad actor and it's always annoying when they have people grown up in sequels that are obviously someone else - that pretty much ruined T3 for me.
