Super impressed with him. HE JUST NEEDS TO BE LESS HESITANT WITH SHOOTING THE DAMN PUCK!!

I'll tell him you said that. There was a recent article on Flames Nation praising him and saying how great he's been- but I honestly think it's because he's been pulled off the PP and playing less minutes- and able to concentrate and be fresh and strong for every shift.

Peters' biggest problem is time management in my opinion, although he's been much better than GG. Gio is a rock solid player with all the heart and strength in the world, but he's not superman. Just my opinion of course.

And he is not suited for a fast game of end to end rushes.

I don't think Smith would have stopped the team from scoring

You would think with the home ice line change this would be true, but the top line can't seem to get going tonight. Might just be the night, but they look off their game compared to their last few outings.

Have only caught a little of this, but Rittich looks good. I like his confidence.
Also, the Flames really need to stop beating themselves. This hasn't looked like the Oilers are in charge from what I've seen, just like the Flames keep screwing up again and again.

Sorry to say I agree. Used to believe he would elevate his game, and has upped his work output at times this year, but not to the level of a game changer.
The Flames may yet win this game, but they're just showing more of the same. It seems there is a divide between those on the team who like to compete, and those who enjoy the game in the offensive zone. In the nhl your ceiling is as high as your 1d and 1c, and the Flames are hampered in this respect. Good players, but not up to the level of what the top teams ice.

How many people here will be saying Money doesn't play well in these type games if he nets another OT GWG???
Dont forget the guy just had what 3-4 off season surgery's?
To me thats amazing he is playing hockey right now not to mention putting up points

Exactly! The scoring has totally dried up with this team. What was a strength for the first part of the season, has now disappeared. Can't win games if.yoi don't score. Rittich has given us a chance to win, forwards need to help him out.

Please DO!
I also think taking him off the pp has taken off some pressure, resulting in overall better play.
Tell him to just shoot first, think second.
His double clutch 'should i shoot, should i not, hmm should i...' is painful.
His turn around this year =

Our 1D is really good. I often find myself surprised at just how well Gio does step up for the team.

I know you like to be the voice of reason here, and that's fine but let's get real here. The Oilers have more breakaways shorthanded than the Flames have top notch chances.

Never said they were perfect, and they did give up bunch, but they were also in the offensive zone most of the first.

I think the oilers know we try to play fancy against them and take advantage of it every time even in the past. Need to play more north and south pucks to the net.
