Calgary Flames Licence Plates now Available
According to the Flames twitter account, you can now pick up a Flames licence plate at the local registry office. Money raised from the sale of the plate goes to the Flames Foundation.

That took way too long, but nice to see. Surprised to see proceeds going to the foundations. Could likely have charged more and seen a tidy little profit for the province.

Get someone to register with this plate, then register back to their old plate and mail it to you? Unless you have an in with a registry, that's the only way I see it working.

Oh wow, the Oilers version is seriously ugly. Who thought splitting the colours that way would work well? Everything looks off center. I'm glad the Flames plate keeps it simple.

Looks like you buy / order the plate for $75. You don't have to register it, though...or, you can when you desire.

According to Crowfoot Plates, you can't actually order them until the 19th. Then, they're mailed to you from Edmonton. Also, heads up, if the vehicle is co-registered (hubby and wife, for example) you'll both need to go in to get it.

I see somebody messing with cars because they have a Flames/Oilers plate... but I'd take the risk.
I was happy to see this today, but not sure I want to replace my Support Our Troops plate.
