Price was excellent. Some say he was good, not great. But that's because Carey Price makes it look easy. Kipper had the same effect. He'd be the reason the team won, and yet he made it looks simple. Price didn't need to make 10-bell saves. He was always in excellent position and was able to see through screens and anticipate plays. All game long I kept thinking how lucky the Habs are to have Price, and how awesome it would be if the Flames' had a goalie like him.
Good lord. Price has been brutal this year (and last) and is probably the worst co tract in the league.

Lol disagreeing that Price is an elite goalie.

Too be a top team, there has to be expectations. If this team expects to take it to the next level and win, we shouldn't be playing a struggling goaltender... Last season the coaching staff was guilty of going back to too many experiments throwing away points needed to make the playoffs. I like peters but I doubt Darryl would tolerate sub par goaltending when 2 goal lead is enough to win the game.

Flames management needs to raise the over all team expectations and stop with the experimenting.

You couldn’t strap a rocket onto Smith. It would
Go right through his legs.

Not at all.

I’ve never been angrier than I was when Elliot had his post game scrum after that game.

He Was almost smug and was adamant that he did no wrong. Said he wouldnt change a thing and didn’t think it was fair to pull him that quickly. Was obvious to me at that point that he didn’t care and likely knew he was never playing for the Flames again.

Smith has rubbed me the wrong way with his comments after a bad game before but tonight isn’t one of those nights. He owned up to it tonight and you could tell it was bugging him just as much as it’s bugging us.

Well it sure is nice to have Price on my fantasy team.

That's all I got.

I'm probably being nitpicky but I hate that he said he has "No idea how that went in", it's pretty obvious how that got through.

The good news is that despite a terrible Smith, we’re still in ok shape and the team is good. Rittich can hopefully turn them into a great team.

Ugh, the Flames have the most milquetoast media. It's sickening. It's like they are so worried about stepping out of line and being fired.

Price has been bad but still letting in 0.5 goals/game less than Smith. Same # of games played.

It wasn't just the two weak goals that concerned me about Mike Smith's performance but every shot was a god damn adventure. He was flopping around like Billy Ranford in 1993. Always out of position.

I remember listening to the post game show of that infamous 9-1 loss to the Pens, and i couldn't believe how positive he was after that game. lol

I'd have a similar opinion except that I don't have any faith that they'll see this game as the wake-up call that it clearly is regarding Smith and make Rittich the starter.

I'm sorry I just don't. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do but I ain't about to hold my breath.
