Tomorrow is the perfect game for Smith. Prove it or lose it. Rittich is ready to take over, can Smith keep up?
Love to see him rise to the occassion. If not, hand the keys over to Rittich.
Absolutely agree. Tomorrow has got to be about Smith's last chance to rebound before Rittich gets a big run of games. Peters isn't dumb, and he's suffered with poor goaltending before, his patience for Smith figuring it out must be wearing thin.

To boot the players seem to play hard for Rittich, not that they don't play hard for Smith. They seem determined to block pucks for Rittich and do whatever it takes to win. They seem to play for each other.
A little bittersweet. In Vegas for a few days and got here just in time to rush to the sportbook to put money on the over and Flames to cover. The spread was 1.5 so there was good money on Flames to cover.
When I saw it 1-0 right away I was dancing.
Flames shouldn’t be a favorite tomorrow so will take them to win. We’ll see about the over.

Which begs the question if the rest of the locker room are just tired of Smith constantly calling out people and would rather rally behind Rittich

I’m fully on board the tankwagon, but we can make some pit stops to beat our division rivals.. please

So, to continue my questionable trend of making jokes that are clearly terrible in the hopes that at least one person laughs, it's safe to say that if the Flames win this game then Calgary supports people losing their homes, right?
Or is it like a Groundhogs Day thing? If the Kings lose tonight, another 6 months of raging fires?
At least I remembered to get beer this time.

Please play better. Even if you lose, just stop playing defeated

What's up all you beautiful drunken animals? I have four fewer bones in my skull since the last time I talked to yall, and boy howdy is that painful. I was gonna make a Mike Richards joke since I'm on Oxycodone for all the pain, but I'm too loopy to come up with it. I will say, I would literally kill a man for the ability to eat a cheeseburger right now. I never realized how much I took the ability to eat solid foods for granted until I lost it.
I have no idea what to expect tonight. I did not agree with most of you guys about last game, I actually think we played rather well against the Wild on Thursday. We lost, but it was a good loss, and we played some really quality hockey. Which I guess is not what most of you guys thought haha.
I'm just hoping for a good game, I've been sitting in bed with guass shoved in my face hole all day with nothing to do and no one to talk to, so either way this will be a nice distraction.
I also ####ing hate Calgary so I'm really hoping the Kings can give us a win tonight and ease the pain of how this season is going. Win or lose this year, I'd like to at least beat our division rivals.

Fun Kings facts:
In 4 of their 5 wins, the Kings have scored exactly 4 goals, and scored 3 goals in their only other win thus far.
In every single one of their losses, the Kings have scored 2 or less goals. In 4 of those games they scored 2 goals, and only a single goal in 6 losses.
9 losses have also been when they allowed 3 or more goals.
Struggling to score goals and to keep pucks out of their net are recipes for disaster, hence, they are the 31st ranked team in the NHL for those reasons.
In more positive news, this took place 11 years ago. Eerily enough, they also adorned specially worn patches that night to auction off the jerseys as part of a fundraiser to help aid firefighters.

As cheesy as it sounds, this seems like almost exactly what some of these guys have needed--simply a mindset coach. How often have we said they were unprepared for a game?
We'll see how long it lasts, but they're making, for the most part, crisp, creative plays fearlessly, executing tape to tape passes finally, starting the game properly, and physically and emotionally engaged in puck battles.
Maybe some of the newer guys need x and o reinforcement, but the decade old vets just need a continual kick in the ass and someone to tighten frankenstein's screws.

2 passes and its out of the zone by the Flames. It takes the Kings 4 and then give it right back.
If I'm going to go full silver-lining homer, I'm going to say "The kind of run it would take to make the playoffs at this point would scare the **** out of any opponent worse than 2012."
Instead I'm going to say blow it all up and let the Ontario Reign play here all year and let manchester play in ontario so we can get a number of first round picks in a good draft.
Guys like Carter and Brown, maybe Muzzin were previously untradeable but they're showing well, will have some value.
I'm only disappointed that the signs of life they showed the other night were just a last gasp sputter, no one on this roster can be assed to finish a check, never mind facewash anyone. Guys just skating into Campbell fearlessly, what ****. Call up MacDermid and Imama, at least the youngsters will be protected on our way to #1.

Our powerplay is so much ass. We have to be the league leader in dump and chase, right? How many ####ing times do we dump the puck? I'm sick of it. Glad we got the win and Rittich the shut out, D played great but man what a dull game couldn't wait for it to be over.
That's what happens when the NHL schedules a game same day only hours after an NBA game. That ice was garbage after the first period and just got worse in the third.
can anyone believe that we nabbed Rittich out of a random Czech league? He has really come into his own
Czech Superliga is the same league Dominik Hasek, Jaromir Jagr, Jiri Hudler, Michael Frolik were from. It's not a random league, it's one of the better European leagues after the KHL and SHL. IIRC it's considered a better league than the Swiss league and not far behind the FEL. But yes it's definitely nice to have the scouts discover an NHLer outside of North America. Our Euro scouts are usually pretty bad.

You're right, random league wasn't the right term. Just nice that the Flames were able sign a guy with no pedigree who has turned into such a quality player in 3 years. A late bloomer for sure.
