Didn't look that bad, think Lucic was just shaking his hand, couldn't hear what he was telling him, and that jerk Stamkos, was taunting poor Connor.
Didn't look that bad? Puck is no where near. He slashed him in the back of the leg and then full on hunted him. Body checks him, punches him in the head while he's down and then drops on top of him.
The result was silly, but if that's not predatory I don't know what is. Tough to suspend considering what came out of it though.
It's such a lazy Oiler way to do something too. "Oh, go after the guy that hit Russell? I'll do that right now."
No momentum, no flow, not finishing your check every time you come near him or anything of the sort. He's just going to whack him... then chase him around the offensive zone until he can get his hands on him. The worse of the 'intimidation' tactics, as you look like a goof more than anyone's worried about taking runs at your kids.
That can get out of the game right now, as the alternative is a lot more fun to watch. Can't believe that even at the enforcer level, he's also garbage.

That is reprehensible. For people who want fighting out of the game a fighter should have tuned Lucic for that kind of behaviour. That wasnt 'fighting' that was targeted and mindless violence.
Also Conner McWhiner is such a baby. Credit to him for getting in there even if his entire contribution was tugging on a guy's jersey from the periphery of the scrum.

That should be a suspension. If the league actually wants to stop that garbage this is a good start. This isn't like bennett where it's a reaction in the moment, this was a deliberate attempt to stalk and attack. It's basically Bertuzzi without the same result.

It's even worse if you start at 1:06, and watch him target the kid on the bench
I can't wait for the day when Lucic starts a scrum on the ice and McDavid gets dragged into it and ultimately gets injured because of it.
As if Lucic doesn't hurt that team enough, can you imagine if McDavid fell awkwardly and reinjured his collarbone or something when he goes in to protect Lucic - the reaction from the Oiler fans would be incredible!

The tracking down and trying to start something was sort of like McSorely/Brashear as well, except he didn't hit him in the head with his stick.
What if a fourth line, 250 lbs. goon attacked and mauled McDavid the way Lucic did last night? There would have been an outcry from the oilers and their fans that the guy should be thrown out of the league and charged with assault.

The solution wouldn't be to fight Lucic, but to have fought McDavid during the melee. If that happens, the Oilers lose.

That's exactly what I was hoping for right there, Cirelli grabbing the golden child and start throwing. It would have been somewhat justified too after McDavid went pulling on jerseys like a madman at the beginning of the scrum. Too bad it didn't happen.
