Is Texas now more worth focusing on for Dems than Florida? Yeah Cruz is uniquely awful (and Beto tremendous), but Florida seems more and more like a lost cause.

Vacuum of morals, old fashioned racism, gerrymandering and voter suppression. I envy anyone who can be optimistic going in.
Would love to not have to see Paul Ryan anymore.

Florida did one thing right tonight. That's a lot of votes for the next election.

Florida did vote to restore voting rights to people with prior felony convictions. So, they have that going for them.

Renegotiate Nafta - done
Push free trade towards fair trade - done
Rejuvenate the economy - done
Cut red tape - done
Cut taxes - done
Iran sanctions - done
Destroyed Elizabeth Warren's credibility - done
Made supreme court conservative - done
I mean really - the only reason not to vote for trump is if you're sick of losing.

Figured this would happen.
The US economy is just too hot in right now. The huge stimulus put in place twelve months ago is lifting all boats and the wounds from the financial crisis finally healed is a huge boost to the US economy. Will it last forever? No - but right now its helping a lot and when you're not doing well, you can't look five years down the road. You maybe look a few months ahead.
For the first time in a decade Average Joe is getting a wage increase and getting the number of hours worked that he wants to. Business and consumer confidence is back. And right or wrong trump gets the credit because of the messaging that all his initiatives - cut red tape, reduce regulations, cut taxes, end illigal immigration, make trade deals a better deal - would make the economy great again. And the economy is on fire - ergo, republicans are winning on the economy.
There is no blue wave. Because as morally bankrupt as the Republicans might be...the economy, stupid.

That despicable weasel Cruz has now squeaked ahead of O'Rourke, 50% to 49. Not surprising, as I figured he'd win it easily. The fact that it's this close is actually quite amazing.

Seems like the best time to be a Democrat is the day before any US federal election, it sure isn't on election day.

Some positives for tonight:
Jared Polis won his governor race in Colorado, he is the first openly gay man to win
Ilhan Omar is the first Muslim woman voted to congress
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the youngest woman ever voted to congress

Then again, this is Florida so I guess we shouldn't be surprised. What a dumb state.
