Huge win!

Bit of a sloppy game defensively at times tonight, but once again they found a way to pull out a win with relentless forechecking, winning puck battles, quick skating, and just sticking to the game plan. That's what good teams do.

I thought Rittich had a decent game. Nothing spectacular, but he was steady when necessary. I'd like to see him get the next start as well, although I have a feeling Peters will go back to Smith to try and get him out of his funk.

Flames have only been outshot in four games so far this season, with two of those being Nashville I think, and they've outshot opponents by more than 50 shots on the season so far but are only +2 in goal differential. What does that say? I don't know, but it seems comment-worthy.

I had high hopes going into the season, but even I didn't expect to be leading the league in goals scored and sit on top of the division after a month

WTF Oake? "Maybe the Flames will start to play in the first and second". They dominated this game. Look at the shots.

When you can put up 5 in the third, I guess you can afford to float a bit in the first 40. Not that they even did that, thought they had the edge all night, they just kicked it into another gear to finish.

The biggest thing I want to see going forward is more ice-time for Valimaki. I’m convinced he’s the team’s 3rd best d-man right now and I want to see more of him.

He had a (really really) bad giveaway tonight that almost led to a goal against but was otherwise fantastic.

The -8 to our goal differential in a single game a week or so ago has A LOT to do with that. Meaningless stat is mostly meaningless

I think now after tonight they have a +16 goal differential in the 3rd period. with 28 3rd period goals. I may be off by one point or two. They have the will to go deep. the rest will come once goaltending gets its feet under them.

It was so cool to hear Bob Cole call a Flames game again. Can't believe the man can still pull it off at his age. This might have been his last Flames game, but if it was...hats off to you good sir!
