Flames are reverting to last year's offensive style tonight. Every rush goes to the boards instead of to the centre of the ice.

Chi has basically had 3 opportunities and 3 goals. Otherwise choppy or flames putting pressure without finish.

Can't describe how much I dislike these games.

We need a momentum changer. Big hit. Fight. Something. We’re a way better team than them, especially without Keith.

Yeah I'm seeing a lot of bad habits tonight. If they intercept in the neutral zone they're turning back to their own end to try and set up the perfect rush rather than catching the D off guard and forcing it up ice

What would the score be if Mike Smith was in net?

Yes you’re right. Let’s take the guy with 9 points in his last 6 games, and the only goal scorer tonight off the top line.

My point is when a line like Bergeron or MacKinnon is out there, the primary center to face them is Backlund. I'm sure Ryan will get that task occasionally. However the primary will be Backlund. Does Ryan play tough minutes. Sure. Maybe even second to Backlund.

But the reality is Backlund is always given the toughest assignments and minutes. From my understanding such metrics take in to consideration offensive and defensive zone starts for the most part. Not the level of competition they are facing shift to shift.

On the road the opposing team always matches first line with 4th. Which is why Ryan gets tough matches. But again all.i was saying is Backlund still gets the toughest minutes and assignments. Ryan does too but for different reasons.

We have to capitalize. Hawks have been horrible in front of their net.

Probably the same. Not like the hawks have had many chances. Made good on every morsel.

Ryan, Bennett and Hathaway just had the best Flames shift of the 2nd period.
