If he gets in I bet Jankowski sits, and Dube or Bennett take centre.

The good and the bad...
Flames lead the league (by far) in wins when trailing after 2. They are 4-5-1, which is amazing. The only other team with more than 1 victory is ANA with 2 (2-4-2).
The bad news is that the Flames have been trailing after two 10 times, by far the most in the league (Colorado only once). Most teams are less than 5, and the only teams with more than 6 are ANA, VGS and LAK with 8 (wtf is wrong with the Pacific?)

Glad Rittich is starting. Would like to see Czarnik back in for Janko or Hathaway.

I barely recognize that Hawk's roster. Wow, quite the change over the past few seasons. But that's what happens when you sell you soul for 3 cups.
Glad Rittich is in net. I want nothing more then for Smith to get his groove back. But it's the last year of his contract and the Flames NEED to start transitioning over if they ever hope to internally find a solution in net. When you have a guy with a .939 sv% sitting on the bench, that's a pretty damn good place to look.

I have my own unique measurement for assessing and analyzing goalies. I'm sure others use this method as well. I throw GAA, SV%, High Danger saves and every other measurable statistic out the window.
My stat is called TOS - terrifed of shots. When the opponent is about to get a shot on goal, do I feel terrified?
So far this season:
Mike Smith (always terrified)
David Rittich (rarely terrified)
I go with the two goalie system until Smith's TOS rating comes down a bit.

Looks like retro practice jerseys. Are they in retro’s tonight? If so, combine that with Rittich starting and I like their odds. 3-1 Flames, goals by Neal, Bennett and Brodie.

The eye test also says that Smith himself is also TOS, the way he’s been ducking, flailing with his arms and looking behind in the net after a shot.

He definitely looks uncomfortable in the net, and seems really panicky anytime he faces a decent shot or scoring chance. Hopefully it's just a slump and he'll get himself out of it, because we need him to. But he just looks so unsure of himself right now.
Rittich on the other hand is cool as a cucumber, always seems to be square to the shooter, tracks the puck well, and is rarely out of position. Watching as a fan, I just feel so much more at ease with him in net right now. He's got kind of a Kipper vibe to him and he never seems to panic, which I like.

Whale...I think most fan bases would be okay with "selling souls" for cup runs.

Tweet by @DarrenWHaynes (https://twitter.com/DarrenWHaynes/st...869412577280): Heard Peter Maher talking a few times this week, promoting his new book. Now seeing Bob Cole today at the Saddledome, as he prepares for tonight’s broadcast. Two iconic voices that are, and will always be, the soundtrack of hockey for me.

My favorite Flame jersey is still the dark one with the horse snorting fire.

Bob Cole is doing the game? Nice. I make fun of his mistakes but the man is a legend. It feels like forever since Bob called a Flames game. Gonna be great to hear his call tonight. Warts and all.

This is truly a marvelous post. I think we've all been subconsciously employing this system of measurement ever since Kipper left.

I wonder how Stone feels right now. Must suck to be constantly out of the lineup!
