I'm certainly not happy about the Oilers winning, but I can't help but being a bit happy for Alex Chiasson on his success. Always seemed like a solid enough guy, and I really liked that video where he was given his SC ring by the caps. Hopefully if he scores some goals this year he might gain some traction to once again sign with a decent team next year. Usually players go to the Oilers to see their careers die, but Chiasson looks to have made the most of his opportunity.

So the Oilers beat another tired team coming in on the 2nd night of a back to back. Lucky them.
And man, the Hawks are brutal this year.

Apparently it flips halfway through the season.

2 goals in 2 second for the Habs. Amazing.

Every single Canadian team above the playoff snake line. Except Ottawa. even then they're .500 with the loser points.

There's a nice ring to that. Except for the Oilers. They are welcome to crash and burn any day now. They have already saved both Chiarelli and McLellan for this year. Time to go back in the basement.

Oh sorry.
As of tonight the Leafs have been given 3 PPO with 5 mins left or less in a game.
As of tonight the Flames have been given 3 PPO with 5 mins left or less in a game.
As of tonight the Leafs have been given 36 PPO in 13 games.
As of tonight the Flames have been given 57 PPO in 14 games.
That's a big difference!
But the league is so pro-Leafs and anti-Flames. I feel bad for you guys. It's amazing you can even win a game with how bad the cards are stacked against you.

Oilers can eat #### every day of the week!
Always an injury away from an AHL club, which is a satisfying thought.

Except for the Canucks too, they can also head for the outhouse.

Okay, that was a great OOT night. Pekka Rinne comes back from his injury missing 5 games and doesn't miss a beat. He made 42 saves and was the reason the Predators beat Tampa Bay 4-1. The Predators love playing away from home as they are now 6-0-0 on the road.
Another goalie stud was Craig Anderson for the Senators. He made 46 saves in Ottawa's 4-2 win, half of those saves were made in the 3rd period. The Sens were playing hang on for the entire period as the Sabres were trying to complete the comeback.
Sticking with awesome goaltending, Sergei Bobrovsky was stellar in net making 44 saves with 25 saves in the 3rd period. The Sharks were swarming the BJs in the final period outshooting Columbus 25-8. The BJs won 4-1.
Gotta give props to the Oilers back up goalie, Koskinen gets the SHUTOUT stopping all 40 shots. The Oilers win 4-0 with Caggiula scoring a SHG. Ugh.
The Islanders sort of sweep the Penguins in their home-away series. The Isles win the 2nd game 3-2 in the SO. Greiss made some big saves late in the reg time and OT.
The Blues beat the Knights 5-3 and have won 2 in a row. I guess Coach Yeo has taken some pressure of his potential firing.
Rakell and Getzlaf were in on both of the Ducks goals, but it wasn't enough as the Rangers win 3-2 in the SO.
The Flyers pound the Kings 5-2. The Kings are brutal and went 1 for 5 on the PP. Elliot was in net for the Flyers victory.
Holtby didn't play well in net for the Capitals. The Habs win 6-4 with the rookie Kotkaniemi scoring 2 goals, Gallagher also scored 2 goals.
The Leafs are falling as the visiting Stars pull out a 2-1 reg win. Khudobin made clutch saves late in the game to preserve the Stars win.
The Red Wings score 2 SHGs in the 3rd period, even though one of them was an empty net goal, that is an impressive stat. Detroit beats the Devils 4-3 in reg time. Schneider was back in net for the Devils.

To be fair Toronto did outplay them. The game was actually similar to the Flames much of last year - control most of the play, outshoot your opponent and lose.
The Leafs had incredible puck luck to start the season and it's beginning to even out on them. Having no Matthews doesn't help.
