Smith allows another one that should have been an easy save but probably gets saved by the whistle. He’s horrible.
Flames have dominated this game, except their goalie is about 100 times better than our goalie. He’s just flat out terrible.

Sometimes a bad goal can really get a team down. Especially when that team is fragile like my Flames

Usually smith comes up swinging when players poke him. The guy looks beat.

Hanifin has not shown any reason so far to think the criticisms of his defensive game weren't warranted. He was sheltered last year due to the Canes not having confidence for more responsibility as a dman.
He still makes such odd misread, though he is young. He needs to step it up.

Smith is playing too deep again. Almost every coverage of the puck is right near the goal line.

Flames got lucky there. Any shot on Smith has a chance of going in.

Not the point of the second or third goal. He hasn't looked good making routine saves. Slow and shaky, he shouldn't be starting the third. You can tell the team is not playing the same way they play when Rittch is in net.

Yeah sure that 3rd goal is on the D. However the bum didn't even move. The puck carrier had a bad angle and was most likely looking pass and smith doesn't have a clue. Every NHL teams d makes bad plays. The good goalies cover for them from time to time. Smith is absolutely done in this league.

Who is in charge of the PP now?
Keeping Smith in after the 3rd goal is the only decision I think Peters has made all year that I disagree with.

All this bashing on Smith. First goal he should've stopped but chucky took the wrong guy coming back, and Gio made a brutal pass for the giveaway in the O Zone. 2nd goal the puck bounced and looked like it was tipped, 3rd goal another break down and Smith had no chance.
Not saying Smith is the best option right now, but gotta also have others accountable.

Team going nowhere this year with Smith as starter.
I guess we all knew that was a real possibility.

Bennett is a good player this season. He's prime to breakout finally.

Feels like the dam is going to break for Bennett in a big way.
