Spurs strolled through West Ham and drew away at the Emirates for the quarter finals. I think we play them twice, fairly close together in December.

Say whatever you will about Ramsey, yanking a long term deal out from under him and letting him walk for free just seems asinine from a management perspective.
It erodes trust in other players looking for deals and you lose a good player for free.
What are they doing? Did he kick Emery's dog or something?

Well look at how badly they botched the Alexis Sanchez situation. And to a certain degree (namely how badly they overpaid him), how they handled the Ozil contract. Emery has done well to improve them on the pitch, but the fundamental problem with Arsenal is still the board and Kroenke.

Could United please leave Mourinho behind in southern England and kidnap Eddie Howe? Thanks in advance.

If he isn’t in Emery’s plans, then there is no point signing him on a new contract.
His transfer value would not just be based on the remaining time left on a potential new deal, it would also be based on how much he earns.
If we get landed with another Ozil style overpayment, that is bad all around.
But to be perfectly honest, I’m so jaded with the whole thing. I wish we had a sport that had a salary cap system to mitigate stupid contract values and which made real management more rewarding.
Unfortunately it never can and never will in a sport that won’t even enforce FFP.

oh FFS. I've reached a point where a 93rd minute winner pisses me off. Thanks Mourinho.

Haha! I just came to say: You won! What more do you want?
Eddie Howe probably really deserves a real shot with an ambitious club though. What he does with almost nothing is amazing.

You can't say the players aren't at least fighting for Mourinho, they keep producing comeback wins when those potential loses could seal his fate. His tactics might be abhorrent, but at least his guys are fighting for him.

Why was that ruled offside? That's brutal

You could say it was a different phase of play but there's an equal argument that he actively tried to play the ball, and was therefore interfering with play, just got beat to it by Firmino.
Only the linesman knows. If it had gone straight in and he was still going to flag it for interfering then correct call. If he was going to allow Firmino's attempt then wrong call.

I can understand that line of thinking, but it would have been the wrong call either way. That minimal amount of involvement from Mane on the original ball never gets called. He's several yards away and doesn't affect the play.

Minimal amount of involvement is still involvement. He ran towards the ball.

Right, but that's not how the rules are enforced.

The offside rule is too nuanced to be accurately enforced. It is not humanly possible for one person to process everything that is happening, often from distance and with obstacles blocking view.
It would certainly help if it were simplified to Brian Clough’s terms: "If any one of my players isn't interfering with play, they're not getting paid."
If you’re offside when the ball is played. You’re offside.

Somehow this is 0-0 despite little to no defense being played. Highly entertaining match to say the least.

That's subjective. By the law if they deemed him to he was interfering with play then correct call.
Crazy half. Both goalies and D look suspect.
