He still has his moments but the last two games have been the best Brodie has played in the last three years.

He even won a faceoff in OT! Outmuscled Skinner to smack the puck down the ice.

Why I like this team reason #1: we have the goalie pulled, pressing for the tying goal, and Rasmus fricken Andersson is on the ice. And we score!

Why I like this team reason #2: starting overtime a man down and who do we have on the ice for the PK? Our leading scorer, Elias Lindholm, and not stupid Troy Brouwer.

PS Did I see Brodie taking a draw in OT (on the PK no less), and then poke the puck into the Buffalo zone to kill off about 5 extra seconds? Just want to be sure...

Spoiler!

Gio O.M.G you beautiful man you! What a shift to win the game for the Flames! Keep playing like that and you'll find yourself up for a nice shiny trophy next summer!

Solid win, just when it looked like the Sabres might shut them out. But a great stat to have is most 3rd period goals. Love it!

Gio is awesome. I just love how hard he works, game in, game out.

I’ve heard we acquired some guy named Derek Ryan in the offseason. Has he played a game?

The recording cut out with 5 minutes left in the third but I had a feeling that the Flames were going to end up with at least a point out of this one.

They outworked the Sabres, they have more top end skill than the Sabres, but the useless PP and a strong game from Hutton and the refs made this tighter than it should have been.

Rittich did make a couple saves that I wouldn't have blamed him for not making. That was nice.

What a display by Lindholm on that PK in overtime. Such a smart player.

It's important to remember your roots--where you came from.

The Flames, for example, came from...

ATL! ATL! ATL!

This still consider a regulation W, doesn't it?

Huge character win. The Flames stayed with it and did everything they needed to pull off another road victory.

Short answer: You must have a hard time paying attention to anything other that what's immediately in front of your face.

Longer answer: I said I very, very happy with the W. However, I don't let the late theatrics blind me from some ongoing problems that made the comeback necessary, and changes that need to be made to make the team better night in and night out.

You say one step at a time. I say walk and chew gum at the same time.

Love the look from Gaudreau. I really hope he plays his whole career here, he should be able to end up the Flames all time points leader when all is said and done.

Love the giant smile on Neal's face even before they scored.
