IMO game 7 vs Anaheim in 2006 is the worst game I've ever seen the Flames play, just absolutely no heart. That game really set the stage for the year after year of disappointment from this franchise since
I agree. That was brutal. I went downstairs to the offices after the game and talked to Ken King. He was completely shell shocked and personally apologized. It was sort of the beginning of the end of the 2004 hot streak and to me, going to the games was never really the same. I will give McCarty credit though, he was playing his balls off that night.
Missing out on the chance to play Edmonton in the next round made it even worse. The Flames playoff record is beyond pathetic.

Game 3 against the Ducks in 2017 still makes me irrationally angry.
I still remember sitting in my seat after the overtime goal, piss drunk, and went from ready to go celebrate to extreme depression in a heartbeat. That’s still the worst I’ve ever felt at a game live. I couldn’t believe they blew that one.
It was the inspiration for my avatar which I still haven't figured out what to change it to. Every time I think about it I feel as disgusted as I did when it happened. I'm confident had it been the other way around the ref would have called it off right away.
Don't change nuffin, great avatar

Game 7 vs Anaheim
Game 4 vs TBL in 04
9-0 vs Boston
Last night.
I'm tempted to add Game 6 vs the Lightning. But it was a great game leading right up to the no goal call. And even then Nieminen was a whisker away from scoring the Cup winning goal in overtime. And then Chris Simon gets blatantly tripped while skating the puck out and the Lightning keep it in and immediately score.
Now I'm mad all over again.
Game 4 against the Lightning was on the refs, I have never ever seen a worse penalty call than the one on Clark to cause a 5 on 3. A scrum after the whistle and they pull him out after the Flames already have a penalty. Just awful officiating, Richards scores on the 5 on 3 and that is the game.

I can't remember when it was but it was during Iggys prime years and Chi was on the cusp of becoming a dynasty.
I know it's not as obvious because we were up by 5 so there must have been some good things going on. But losing in the end, I can still remember watching and being pissed off to no end.
Even though we got a loser point in that game it will be burned into my memory forever.
That and the pathetic game 7 of the Stanley Cup final where the whole team played scared to lose. They played game 6 with the hunger to win and came out terrified in game 7 - even if that game never should have happened it was a shame to see such a different team a couple nights after the crushing loss.

The part that pissed me off was TB had a similar sequence in a game later on I believe, or it might have been the same game, but pretty much the exact same sequence of events but TB was the culprit and they didn't get called.
04 will alway be a pile of great memories with a few absolute crushing horse#### memories.
January 7, 1986: Hartford Whalers 9, Flames 1. That was the 11th straight loss for the Flames, and an utter embarrassment. (During the previous 10 games, they were outscored 50-34, which was bad enough. Can you imagine giving up 5 goals a game for a whole month and then having it get worse?)
Looked like the team was mentally finished and defensively hopeless. There wasn't even any way of getting rid of the dead wood on the roster, because Cliff Fletcher was operating from a position of maximum weakness and the vultures were circling overhead.
Four months and a couple of trades later, those same Flames were in the Stanley Cup finals. As the saying goes, that's why they play the games.

Was Fraser the referee? I remember Iginla being livid, pointing at the referee telling him “it’s on you” or something to that effect.
Game 6 in 04 was a downer, but it was exciting to watch so not the "worst game" for me. Game 7 was terrible for me - the Flames just never seemed in it, and it was a frickin game seven.
