Default Canada is "in"...

So here's the fad in Italy... Canada. Everyone is wearing sweaters and jackets with the Canadian flag on it. Some are wearing shirts or sweaters that simply say 'Canada' in huge letters. It's like a Tommy Hilfiger fad over here.
All these teenagers with mullets and aviator sunglasses wearing canadian gear makes me think I'm in Edmonton instead of Rome.

Other strange fad in Roma these days are belts that say (I'm not kidding) "FU**IN CRIMINAL". Nice, eh?

A little while back I saw a young girl (maybe 12 or 13) wearing a shirt that said 'wham bam thank you man' and had an arrow pointing down.

So, any ridiculous fads in Canadia these days?

Well, I sincerely hope that it was a case of them not understanding English. However, arrows are universal, are they not? You think they would have questioned what the words meant once they saw that it had an arrow pointing down to her privates.

So true. You aske them why they dress like that, they say, "To be different".

Yeah, right. Just like all your friends.

Completly agree with the MEC crowd. I think MEC has become the official dress code of my building. I guess all these engineers need to be ready to go hiking at all times.

Was about to make the same comment. I live close to both an elementary and a middle school. There are a lot of parents who need to learn what that job entails.

I wasn't aware that MEC was a trend. I thought people bought stuff from MEC because of the quality? My MEC backpack has lasted me pretty damn good...and I'm sure any other MEC packers will agree!

As for Canada being a trend, funny. A funnier trend was when I was in Jasper, and there are a bunch of Japanese tourists, and one guy had a jacket with English on it "Happy Lucky Pleasure". That was pretty funny, that random English words were worth wearing on their clothes. Then I thought about how some whitey's around here have random Japanese words/characters tatooed in their skin...that's worse.

and with these 'random Japanese words/characters tatooed in their skin', I doubt if they are even sure what they mean, it could be insulting and or porno for all they know.
