Tampa is down 5 zip against Arizona.
This thread probably could use that bit of info.

I doubt it would make a huge difference. Here’s how he fares in each save percentage category.
Low Danger = 46th (Rittich 10th)
Medium Danger = 56th (Rittich 15th)
High Danger = 45th (Rittich 10th)
Any way you slice it, Smith hasn’t been saving crap all.

Was definitely an improvement from last game.
I don't understand why Czarnik isn't getting more ice time. He has constantly been a force every time he is on the ice. Give him 15 minutes, I think he makes a big difference.
Once again, a game where we play a good game, but those few grade A chances that we give up tend to go in.

Well...except for the Oshie breakaway and a “few” others.

Just imagine if we had both average defensive play and average goaltending.

1. At the end of a winning streak, you probably win some games you shouldn't win and likewise at the end of a losing streak, you likely lose some games you should have won.
2. It takes about 20 games at the beginning of the season to find out what you have. It also takes 20-30 games to get used to a new coach and 20 games for a new defenseman to adjust to a new system.
3. Washington lost 8-2 last year early in the season, Pittsburgh lost 10-1. We are neither of those teams, but as much fun as it is to laugh at others for these results, they do not define a team. The bounce back does.

Tampa just lost 7-1 to the Yotes of all teams. I doubt they are just gonna pack it in for the season.
Fans wanting them to move the franchise?

One team is 7-1-1 with a starting goaltender that has a 1.83 GAA. The other is 5-5-1 with a starting goaltender that has a 4.10 GAA. I think Tampa has earned a little more faith from their fans. Also all 7 goals were against Tampa’s backup.

I didn’t have many problems with this game aside from the brutal gaffe in the first period. The Flames looked a lot better today—closer to where they were two weeks ago.

Its his biggest weakness. The league knows it . Look how many 5 hole goals he has let in in his career.

This is about right. Now we'll see where they take it from here.

You can chalk it up to an aberration/poop happens when you’re first in your division with a certified elite goaltender (not to mention the fact that it was the backup that let in all 7 goals). When you battling and scrounging to have .500 record and your goaltender has GAA > 4 it becomes a huge concern/pattern.

I'll be honest: After Game #11 and with everything we have seen this month I am only moderately concerned about the Flames.
But maybe that's just me.

CP is too enamoured with winning the Hamilton trade that everyone seems to excuse the defensive deficiencies. Sure, Smith hasn't been at his best, but the overall team defense is a far bigger concern for me than the individual in net.
This defense is a major problem outside of Gio and to a lesser extent Hamonic. Everyone else is a tire fire who may skate well but cant defend or clear a crease for ####.

The rookies look fine, especially considering the fact that they’re rookies.
