My picture was in my high school yearbook.
That's about as famous as I've ever gotten.

I was interviewed for the local paper when I met Metallica. For a while I had people who I didnt even know come up to me and ask me about it.

One of my soccer games when I was 11 was on one of those saturday afternoon TV CTV's, it was a provincials game. Too bad we got smoked 10-0 by Edmonton. I had a basketball game that was on a sports channel on a weekday afternoon too; I guess that's how they fill the day slots, either that or darts.
I did a big project in high school of a genetic disease, and it got referenced in the UN. It also got referenced in a Detriot paper too, that was kind of neat.
There's a project I'm doing that's been referenced in MSNBC, CBC, New York Times, ect. The Edmonton Journal and The Globe and Mail asked me for an interview, just setting a date for that. That's gonna be kind of neat, just one of those "... and what's happening in the community" things.

I was on the front page of the herald one time...throwing a snowball at my sisters face in front of the U of C.
It must have been a very slow news day.

When I played soccer, our championship game aired on a local channel and I (and most everyone on the team) was interviewed because we went undefeated that year. I think that was the first time I was on tv. I was a lousy interview though, too shy and quiet...
Was on Speakers Corner once. It apparently aired, people told me they saw it, but I never did.
I was interviewed by the Ottawa Citizen during the Sept 11th memorials at Parliament Hill. Couple of my comments made it into the paper.
I sold one of my articles to the Ottawa Citizen when I was still a student. I was so proud of that one. Had a couple of my other articles and photos appear in our schools paper, although every journalism student appears in that paper at one point or another, so that's not really a big deal.

Yeah, being shy and quiet really doesn't make for a good interview

I was on the Buckshot Show in grade 3 or thereabout.
I was in the Gauntlet (UofC newspaper) several times (being a SU rep).
During the Flames amazing playoff run, I was on TV 3 times during goal celebrations. Got lots of calls from friends, "hey man you're on TV!"

I volunteer for blind hockey and have been to a few flames games and hitmen games during the intermission. Although sadly the last appearance we made at the Flames game (I was in the stands) didn't come off that great, or not as good as they have in the past.
I remember quite a few years back we played during an intermission and DJ Tanner was hanging around outside the Flames dressing room, while we were waiting to talk with some of the players. I can't remember which players actually gave us the time of day back then, but we got to talk with Peter Maher and Bearcat Murray.
Also through blind hockey I've been on CBC, and Channel 7 where they did a piece on the team and taped some of the play. My dad who also volunteers was on one of the breakfast shows about it about 3 years ago as well. Also in relation to it we have a kids book written about the blind hockey team and how kids can battle to overcome adversity, as one of the actual members of the team, all our names, including my own are characters in the book.
That's all I can think of at the moment.

Well this year my wife and I were in the Calgary Sun quite a bit for the destination wedding contest we won. The whole process took about a month and I would say we had our pictures in the paper once or twice a week. We made the front page when we finally won it as well as a 2 page "fashion" spread they got us to do.
In addition to the paper we were on City TV's breakfast show. That whole process was pretty cool. We had quite a few people recognize us and we still have a few people bring it up.
I have also been on numerous CJAY 92 TV commercials. The first set I didn't have a huge role in them. A couple years later I was the main focus in one set of them. It was their "Rock yourself stupid" campaign.
Of course Buckshot a few times. I have made the news a couple times as well. I remember getting interviewed quite a while ago when the transit strike was on.
I don't think my 15 minutes are up yet. I think there will be something bigger and better.

Lets see.. I was in both the Herald and the Sun after I won a city wide essay contest in grade 9.
My biggest claim to fame came at a Flames game while I was an usher. It was December 30th 2002 I think and the Flames were playing Bufallo. Anyways, I had a grass skirt and coconut bra on over my ushering uniform and one of the Sportsnet camera guys asked me to jiggle my coconuts for a minute. I didn't realize at the time but I was on the air right before a comercial break. My buddies told me about being on the next day. Apparently I was on for like a whole minute or something.
I've never been able to track down a copy of that footage though.
Oh yeah and I was in the Herald with KG when we went to a charity golf tournament for Theatre Calgary. Good ol' Reginald was the one who outed us.

Good luck getting it though. I was promised a tape of an interview I gave on Breakfast Television on A-Channel a few years ago and despite numerous attempts, have never received one.
I want to watch it because it was a live interview from the airport on Sept. 11, 2003. When we went on the air, I couldn't hear a thing Dave Kelly was saying - just static. I had to make up what I thought he was asking and just wing it. I still don't know whether I responded to his questions or was just going off on my own tangents...would love to see the tape!

I've was interviewed once on CBC on a piece they did about Rider fans. Me and the crew we sit with at Rider games are usually on TV once a game as we sit it a fairly active section so that's kinda cool.
But, my biggest 15 minutes of fame was back in the day when I played Junior B hockey. We went on to win the Keystone Cup that year (the Stanley Cup of western Cdn Jr B hockey) and all through the playoff run and Keystone Cup (which we hosted), kids were asking for autographs and you basically were treated like hockey kings. Actually, even throughout the year, being on the junior B team in small town Saskatchewan, you felt like an NHLer in the town. Everybody asking if you played on the team or just coming up to talk to you cuz you were on the team. Or maybe it just felt like that - either way, it was great.
