If the players weren't believing everyone saying that they need to smarten up, I'd hope this game should convince them.

We did not have a truly excellent goaltender since Kipper. Seems like a curse... or maybe Treliving is not as good as we think he is...

I hate to say it, but maybe we’ve been bitten by the injury bug and almost everyone important is playing through something right now...in which case i’d pump the brakes on my criticism and just pray to the hockey gods the tide turns in our favour soon.

Is it still sacrilege to say Giordano is a mediocre captain?

Thing is when the team is fragile the goalie needs to give some hope.

Looking back at the 1st and outside of the scoreboard the Game was pretty even in the first.

Scoring chances were 8-7 Pens, High Danger was 4-3, but the team was down 3-0.

Murray made the big saves that period and Smith let in at least one soft goal and every rebound was a battle.

Then he let in another somewhat soft goal on a bad rebound a minute into the 2nd and it’s 4-0 and the team had quit.

Team has been really bad for 3 games now so it’s not all on Smith but tonight they actually started strong and seemed to give up once the goalie was struggling.

This game is 100% shades of how last season ended even though the roster turned over by 20%

On the bright side, the Flames have two more points than they should have through these last 3 games.
