Boy Beleskey has sure fallen hard after making bank on his one good season. Can't even make one of the worst teams in the league.

Not the Kempe I was thinking of. I doubt he gets claimed.

GM's are so weird. I remember that playoffs and off season. Every fan and media guy said "Welp, here's the next big mistake contract coming to a yet another role player who had a great playoff run. Which idiot's going to sign it?"
And like clockwork GM's lined up to sign it.

Sweeny must've been trying to make a splash as the new GM. You'd think replacing Chia would be dead easy.

I remember liking the Beleskey signing, thinking it was a good 'poor-mans' Lucic signing to keep a net front presence.
I was wrong...

He is a poor man's Lucic. It's just that Lucic is no good.

No surprise, but Mario Kempe and Beleskey cleared.
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
With today's recalls of Michael Neuvirth and Scott Darling from conditioning loans, Philadelphia and Carolina are each carrying three goaltenders. Something to watch for on the waiver wire.
Flyers carrying: Elliott, Neuvirth, Pickard
Hurricanes carrying: Darling, McElhinney, Mrazek

Definitely would have been more interesting for us if Rittich didn't just have two great starts.

I’d claim any of Pickard, Darling, or Mrazek if they got waivered and trade Smith.
It would almost assuredly be a disaster but hey, Smith ain’t getting any younger, shoot for the stars and risk exploding on take off, I always say.

I can't see the Canes waiving Darling or Mrazek before McBackup. Maybe I'm blinded by ghosts of Flames past, but I see higher upside on Darling and Mrazek.

Rittich is playing well and Smith is, well, not going anywhere.
If Rittich looked shaky I'd be all for considering a waiver claim. Instead he looks like a Vezina candidate.

Zero chance Darling gets waived. He's off the sauce and represents the only one of the 3 capable of providing above average goaltending for Carolina.
The other two have been poor this year, but Carolina getting by with a very low shots allowed average. Their shots against are lowest in the league, but their GAA is 16th. Their 2 goalies rank 44th and 46th in the league in Save %.
Darling played his first rehab (good word to use here) game in Charlotte last night and was superb. He should easily reclaim the #1 job immediately. Even a save % of just .910 would give Carolina the 2nd best GAA in the league.
Why anyone would want either of their current goalies is a mystery to me.

I certainly wasn't disagreeing with you. Just the opposite.
And that's the first time I've been referred to as fancy.

That's at least the third time I've seen this in one of your posts. I've not heard anything about a drinking problem. Is this common knowledge?

Have we traded Brodie Yet?
Seems to be a log jam on defence and if Valimaki plays one more game he’ll burn a year on his ELC.
So why not just send him down rather than having him as a healthy scratch? Looks to me like management is trying to buy more time to see if they can get something worked out.
Who’s the odd man out? Stone or Brodie?
So What’s Brodie’s true value and who would you be targeting? In my opinion with the emergence of Rittich I’m not sure management is making any trades in the goalie department unless things fall off the rails.
Is there any trade scenarios that fit with the Kings? They might be in panic mode. I know Quick is a pipe dream but seriously he’s 32 on a team that looks to be on the decline.
