There is a big community of people 3d printing terrain and miniatures for RPGs. Does anyone here do that? I have been 3d printing for a while but I'm only just trying to get into minis now.

Wish I had time to play - for now I just listen to the awesome Glass Cannon podcast - I'm more of a Pathfinder guy now than D&D.

https://glasscannonpodcast.com/

I have a notion to propose a D&D style podcast on local community radio. How many would be interested in such a podcast? Would you want to participate as a character or GM?
I would be interested in the podcast. I may even be into playing or GMing depending on the time commitment. I have a baby coming in December, so I'm not committing to anything right now.

Started playing in 1978. Still DM. Writing my own ruleset using the OGL 3.5 rules as a base, about half-way done.

Had sex once, found it messy. Never again!

GMing is definitely more of a time commitment than playing, but it doesn't have to be onerous. The published adventures for most systems are really well done and require probably an hour of reading and an hour of preparation for a 3-5 hour game session.

Being a player requires almost no preparation, though you can totally throw a ton of prep into it if you want to.

I played for many years and various editions (old boxed sets, 1e, 2e, 3e, 3.5) but haven't in a while due to lack of time and friends moving away. My son and his friends are starting to get into it though, seems it is still a thing with the younger generation.

An all time classic! I used to love playing D&D, it's been decades, I also loved Paranoia, Robotech and Star Wars, pretty sure I still have my Star Wars manuals around some where.

Grew up playing D&D but stopped after joining the Forces. Even went to a few GenCons with a few buddies - had to save up for the year and then off to Cali or wherever it was.

I still have some of my favorite miniatures. My son wants them badly.

I have a binder with my characters and a few quests.

Not sure I’ll ever get rid of them, i thoroughly enjoyed that part of my life.

I was doing the same thing. Then I got the 5E playtest and saw that WotC had been reading my notes. If you haven't checked out 5E yet, you should give it a try.

I have tried 5e, not a fan. It cleans up the mechanics adequately, but those core mechanics aren't interesting to me. I think I'll end up very far indeed from D&D, certainly my (completed) magic system is not at all like the Vancian system, and I've dumped alignment entirely - because magic is interesting, and having 9 different cliched archetypal personalities is not.

Last year I bit the bullet and "learned" the rules so that I could DM for a group of friends. It was a huge success, those who were not super into it had a blast by the time we were done. It was a lot of work but totally worth it.

If someone were to DM, we should do a CP one shot where your character is based off your screen name

I want to roll-up a Monk, named Thelonious.

He will speak Wisdom from the Deepak Chopra quote generator:

Everything corresponds to great possibilities.

The unexplainable is reborn in subjective space time events.

Matata.. still looking to the horizon.. never here! Now! Hm? The need in front of your nose! Hm.

I've never played a D&D game, but RPG video games have always been my favourite. I picked up FFG's Star Wars RPG, the Force and Destiny core book and a few supplements. I've been reading over those for the past few months preparing to run my play group through a session. Seems like it will be a lot of fun.

I played quite a bit in elementary school and junior high, but then didn't play for years. Right now I'm playing weekly with a group via skype, with people from Courtenay, Portland and Montreal. It would be better to be at a table but they're a great bunch. Still missing the feeling of playing at a table, and the suspense of rolling those 1's!

I've been a fairly active roleplayer/gamemaster for about 30 years now. I've also done talks about roleplaying and gamemastering for over a decade. I've considered putting up a YouTube channel, or writing a book about it. (There's about 10-12 hours of recordings of me talking about rpg things on YouTube already, but it's all in Finnish and the sound quality isn't great.)

AMA about gamemastering and I can probably help.

I also larp
Spoiler!

I've only ever done one d&d campaign though I started with Cyberpunk 2020 and moved on to more serious stuff. Or you know, pretentious, if you like that word.
