Are most people buying physical copies of the game? I find it so much more convenient to buy digital copies through the PSN store.

Yep I buy physical as much as possible. If I go through EB Games, if I hate the game or beat it exceptionally fast, I can take it back within ten days for full store credit (once per purchase). And even if I like it, you can get some relatively decent trade values on stuff if you don't wait too long, or hold out for one of their promo days.

For example -- God of War and Spider-Man, when you factor in the $50 Amazon promos plus the trade in credit I got from EB Games, I got both those games the day they came out and played them through to completion for free. If you got both of those digitally on release day, you're down $160. Sure, you still own them and can re-download at any time, but are you really going to? You can save so much money with physical copies and planning ahead.

I only buy digital for cheap games that I don't care to add to my physical collection. And like OutOfTheCube already said it's much cheaper pre-ordering physical copies.

I love the ease of digital copies but the sales on PSN are crap so I usually end up getting a disc.

Bonus for being able to re-sell the game when you think you'll never touch it again

I guess that makes sense, I like having the huge digital library of games I can go back to and re-download when I feel like playing that game again. Also, it's nice knowing that RDR2 or anything else I pre-order (like Spider Man at the time) is going to be there, ready to go on my harddrive right at midnight.

No getting to a mailbox, or the game market or waiting in lines. Just there, ready to rock.

Also, navigating the reselling market in mandarin chinese isn't something I'm super stoked about doing.

I've got the $50 Amazon pre-order, but since it probably wont be delivered on Friday, I think I'll go grab a copy somewhere and return the Amazon one to the store once it gets delivered.

Do video games sell out these days? Will a pre-order be required to buy in a store on Friday?

Always physical copies for me. Preordered COD: Black Ops 4 for $50, played it for a week and a half (and realized it wouldn't hold my attention once red dead comes out) and then just sold it for $60.

Plus I do a game exchange with a buddy at work. We look at upcoming games we both want to play and then split them between us. Then preorder them and trade them. When we're done I take it to best buy for around $35 credit. So for around $15 i usually play 2 new titles. And games that i really like i just keep, like uncharted, spiderman, gta v, etc.

EB Games Cross Iron Mills called me and said they will be doing a 9PM release tomorrow night. I imagine that's pretty consistent across all of them -- you could just call the store that you have your preorder at.

Yeah I'll be at the 9pm at Southcentre one. I bet they're all the same, just show up for 9 (or before...gonna be a big line I bet).

I'm barely a week into Odyssey and completely hooked, i don't know how I'm going to throw it to the side for a while now...but I will.

I don't think I've been this excited for a game since maybe GTA V. Yet I don't recall it being on this level.

RDR is my favorite game of all time.

I'm still hoping that Amazon delivers the game on Friday. They've never missed a delivery date for me but I've never received a delay email from them like I did for this game. The shipping information still says it'll be shipped today.

Ohhh the disc just finished copying. It took abut 40 minutes. Only an hour to go on the download, maybe I can stay up and play tonight...

The day has arrived. So pumped for this game. Watching some gameplay on twitch. Looks absolutely beautiful!
