Montreal played fast and cohesively like Vegas last year.

I have been in Montreal on business countless times, and done a damn good job the next day when work started in the daytime, not at 7 pm.

This is a stupid conversation. Montreal played a faster game than Calgary has had to deal with. Their record is not a fluke right now.

NOT just the defensemen, the team in general has been far weaker positionally and battlewise without the puck up to this point. That, along with some very questionable puck decisions , puts the Flames at one game above 500.

Without amelioration in the above mentioned areas , Patrick Roy and MA Fleury in their prime would not save this team.

This is a talented team, offensively. Work , awareness and team defense will make the difference.

Straighten out those problem areas and they are a contender IMO.

Been said already, but don't have much of a problem with Brodie and his penalty. It was the same shot against that got Matheson suspended 2 games for a week or so ago, here it's not even a highlight except for being replayed once, because it's not an enraged internet and a player who doesn't know how to take or expect a hit.
Drouin watching Gallagher and Domi too much, and then pulls a Ribeiro when he gets a shoulder later on when he has to take a shot.

Johnny's hit against was just as blatant and not behind the play so it was caught live. It looked bad live but it too was also glossed over by Ball and Hrudey until they saw it 4 more times and he was in protocol.

Tough game for the team, little help from the officials, and the sky is falling folks are out in full force.

Oh for the love of god. They had a bad game. It’s going to happen again. It doesn’t mean they’re all hungover. Come on guys. That’s totally unfair to speculate.

They have now had 2 terrible games in a row and minus Rittich would have shown blowout s on the score board

If they think this effort is a good consistency to play then I say a month of bag skating and curfews is what they deserve

Garbage

Whilst I am not calling for him to be sat, I do think we need to look at Monahan's effort so far this year, maybe he isn't as healed as they thought. I watched him a lot in the Rangers game, as I was there, and he does look well behind the play and struggling. Maybe we do need to consider moving the lines around a bit and splitting that top line up. Past record doesn't absolve you from lack of current effort imo. Thanks

I’m guessing Peters was hungover after an all-nighter with a bunch of strippers. His team came out flat and he forgot to call timeout in the second period...

Am I doing this right?

I have a very reliable source that told me they saw Gaudreau injecting Valimaki with heroin at the peelers the night before the game.

I believe it, I mean come on, they're young, and its Montreal - who hasn't done heroin in Montreal??

I know. I get mine delivered by ping pong ball, if you know what I mean.

Do I really have to watch James Neal phone it in and sluggishly lug his ass up ice for the next 5 years?

Good lord how does a guy that size get rubbed out on the half wall in the o-zone so consistently.

I can validate, they weren't at the peelers directly before the game!

Watched the games from Chez Paris. Can validate the team was not at the peelers during the game.

Maybe give Neal a shot with some players who compliment his game as a shooter before we start running him out of town.

Montreal is a greasy team, and they used it to their advantage. They worked hard, took liberties where they could, and in the end turned a couple of retaliations into goals.

Its tough to play that style 82 games a year, but it worked for them last night.

The good.

Rittich has made a statement that he belongs in the NHL at some level.
Jankowski played well last night, I would like to see him get more time up the lineup.

The bad.

Discipline, Flames have been okay this year in that regard. I can't help but think that Montreal brought the worst out in them.

If anyone is getting bumped up to PP and top 6, it’s Sam Bennett. Not just gifted to James Neal. Maybe once he’s in game shape.

Ah so Neal's issue is linemates, not that he's shooting at 5% and moves his feet like he's wearing hamsteaks tied to his legs instead of skates.
