Wasnt that Pat LaForge whining hard to the League and threatening to sue?

Yeah that is my recollection. Those debacle of monumental proportion clips I think are from the Oiler broadcast and the Fan960 did not get written consent. Something to that effect.

That same 6 game sample probably added AT LEAST $1.5 Million per year to Draisaitl’s contract.

This is a lesson on why you never base a contract on small sample sizes.

Well it is no good, so I guess it does fit here.

Oilers media guys are really starting to bang the drum to keep Bouchard with the team past 9 games. Going on about how great he is and how it's just a matter of time before the points start coming for him. Chiarelli is really gonna do this, isn't he? Again.

It speaks to their depth (or lack thereof). Do they have much of a choice at this point? He's obviously better than anybody they have down in Bakersfield.

I think that tune was the Calgary Philharmonic’s awesome Flames playoff tribute:

Yeah, it's logical that they use the media to build acceptance for a very bad but likely necessary move, since there are no other real options. It's a truly remarkable situation they are in right there.

Thats because they never leave anyone in Bakersfield. If you're drafted by the Oilers in the first round you will be in the NHL because their team is paper-thin, and then when things arent going well theres nobody to call up for help.

Dude this entire thread is overboard. Critiquing his costume is rather mild compared to the insults that get hurled at the citizens of Edmonton.

Only the Oilers fans. Lots of decent folks in Edmonton that don't sip from the Kool-Aid.

Agreed. But you don’t have to look very hard to find posts that make no such differentiation. Point is, I’m not sure defending his Halloween costume is the hill to die on, at least in here.

If Joe Colbourne learned that lesson he might still be in the NHL. Thankfully in Joe's case, the Flames did.

I thought Ethan Bear was supposed to be the next superstar denfenceman in Edmonton. What happened to him?

(Answer: they drafted Bouchard and sent him away to the island of misfit toys, never to be heard from again)
