So, based on this, I would imagine that regardless the outcome of the examination, the team's doctors will recommend he remain out of the game considering the score at that time and the time remaining.

I think Johnny will be okay.
Thanks. I have seen players come back from the protocol during the game, though not that late.

Andersson and Valimaki are not looking like rookies.

I think the hit was more of a function of the Boston College v Boston University rivalry....conspiracy theory. I am sure these guys play summer hockey together and are friends. I don’t have a problem with the hit other than it was late.

He was on the ice for the power play. Looked fine. Left the ice with 9:30 left. Went down the tunnel with 9 mins to go.

And protocol is at least 20 minutes in the quiet room as stated in the protocol. 20 minutes is how long the baseline tests take.

Saw the initial play and thought good hit as I didn't see where the puck had went. I watched a few replies just now and definitely think that McAvoy deserves a suspension regardless of whether JG is injured or not. Hoping he will be ok though.

Great game, this team looks so composed compared to last year. Much less running around in their own end, much better zone exits and less turnovers.
I only wish I knew why Peters keeps playing our fourth line on the second pp unit. Other than that, pretty solid overall.

Excellent win. Had to get up at 3:30 to catch a 5:00 am train in Germany; hilariously caught most of the game. Patiently waiting for Gaskal.

Andersson had his best game in the NHL, he looks great with Hanifin. His composure is great and all his passes are to the tape. A summer with a skating coach and he could be a 1-2 Defensive pairing. Let’s not forget that he was the first to go after Donato for the cheap hit. I will say this, players are taking liberties with Johnny without Ferland patrolling the wing. The flip side is Aho is playing 5 inches taller now that he has Ferland on his line.

They went after Johnny when Ferland was on the ice. It really doesn't matter

I can't believe Matthew Tkachuk is only 20 years old. What a freaking gift that kid is.

Great game by the Flames against a very good opponent.

Anyone else find it amusing that the Flames record is 4-2-0 on this historic day?

Backlund must have had a bowl of vinegar before the game, was super physical and made some beauty plays.

Seeing Lindholm (New addition to the closet tonight) was a real eye opener. He's super physical, makes those small little plays that gives Johnny some extra room to make some magic happen.
