If there was any day that the Flames should have Dube in the lineup, that day is today.

I wonder if could Lindholm center a line of his own?
Bennett-Lindholm-Neal

I was reading Craig Custance's book on coaches in today's NHL. In the section where he was interviewing John Tortorella, he made mention of counting how many of Boston's goals scored that year came from cycling and a heavy game. It was Torty's first foray into statistics.
He mentioned being surprised on how the majority of the Bruins goals came off the rush. So we'll have to make sure to slow them down in the neutral zone and have Smitty retrieve any errant dump ins.

That's a real second line.
Gaudreau-Mony-Tkachuk
Bennett-Lindholm-Neal
Frolik-Backlund-Czarnik
Janko-Ryan-Dube
I would much prefer to see Lindholm at center and put Backlund and Fro where they belong.

It might be a "real" second line if Lindholm and Bennett continue to play well. But Backlund put up one more point than Lindholm last year, and Frolik put up one less than Bennett in 12 less games (in what could be called off years for both Frolik and Backlund).
If you are intending the third line to be a checking line, why Czarnik?

I'm a bit worried about this one, as the Bruins are a strong team with the best line in hockey that can dominate entire games. It's going to take a real strong effort along with Smith standing on his head at times.
Fingers crossed we get Jesus Smith tonight and not the leaky goalie we've had most season.

I have Marchand and DeBrusk in my hockey pool so for selfish reasons I want a high scoring game.
6-5 Flames win in regulation (Bennett with 2 goals)

Bennett went from called off goal to 1 assist to 1 goal.
So logical progression is about 1g 1a tonight or 2a.

Flames forward depth is going to roll this team. Shut down that top line and it’s an easy victory. However, that’s one of the hardest tasks in the league.

Call me crazy but when everyone is healthy I'd love to see this:
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Dube-Mony-Czarnik
Bennett-Backlund-Neal
Frolik-Ryan-Janko
I know most people are probably thinking that's wasting Mony, but Dube has skill and wheels and Czarnik has wheels, both have shown decent puck retrieval. I can see them going full speed ahead on a dump and chase, fetchin that puck and who better to feed in front than sneaky Mony with the best shot on the team.
Anyways I'd love to see them try this at some point and with juggling Peters as HC, I can see it happening.

I like Dube a lot and Czarnik has been pretty good. But they've shown nothing to suggest they deserve an elevation to line two. Especially Czarnik, IMO.

Agreed but last game he put Lindholm in between those two in the third. So that's where I was thinking that I could see Mony gelling with them.

No reason. I would be just as happy with:
Gaudreau-Mony-Tkachuk
Bennett-Lindholm-Neal
Frolik-Backlund-Ryan
Dube-Janko-Czarnik

Let's see if Peters is able to fix our other perennial weakness, which is a disappointing first game at home after a road trip. I realize it's a league-wide phenomenon, but we've been especially bad at it the last couple of seasons.

I've got Marchand and Monahan and Gaudreau.
So, y'know, whatever score gets me 4 points from Marchand and 12 points combined from Monny and Johnny is fine by me. As long as the Flames win. And if Smith has to be pulled for whatever reason that Rittich doesn't allow any goals. Oh, and the PP operates at a 66% conversion rate, and PK is 99.2% effective. No hard hits that see injury. No bad penalties.

Just want to see some Tkachuk - Marchand exchanges, rolled with a Flames win.

I don't give a flying #### about hockey pools, I just want to see the Flames ready to play right from puck drop, probably a good thing that this one starts at 7:30pm.
3-2 Flames
Gio, Backlund, Monahan
