Right on both. It was funny to see being up 3-0, Peters wasn't afraid to put Neal out on the 2nd line to try and get him going a couple shifts. Just different to see.

Didn't stop Johnny from getting crushed twice. It wouldn't have stopped Dube from being hit in game one.

You are like those guys who attributed wins to Hathaway being in the lineup two years ago.

I was almost mad for Nashville with how brutal they executed on their 5 on 3. The Flames defended it well but the open space was not abused by the PP.

The Flames on the other hnd, executed nearly perfectly throughout the game.

Also, is it just me, or is the guy who counts the shots blind? That didn't feel like a game in which one team had 66% of the shots, or one in which the good guys surrendered 40+?

If Matthew Tkachuk is in fact the player he looks like he is after three games, this team is going places. He and Gaudreau are the proverbial one-two punch.

Also, Lindholm has been a revelation on the first line.

Hard not to feel excited (even though, as a long suffering Flames fan, I know I shouldn't.)

Smith was gigantic on that 2 minute 5-on-3, and the PP clicked again with the top line pulling their weight. Great to see the players the team needs to rely on being its best players. Everyone else will have their time.

Loved the up-tempo speed of the Flames. They played well, had a few bobbles, but recovered really well; pretty good puck support most of the night. Loved loved loved the kids on the PK - that is a HELL of a vote of confidence by the coaching staff and something that GG would never have done -- he was always too scared to give 'em a chance.

Apparently that is not Peters' style -- and that is a great thing for the team and the kids!

Most enjoyable game in a LONG time!! GFG!!

2-1 start? That’s as good as it gets around these parts

Nope - Hathaway wasn't tough enough. This team has struggled with toughness in the past and Peluso addresses the weakness. Also, thanks for making my point for me re: game one.

THIS!

Big dividends if they can keep it up.

The other team is still allowed to hit...nothing dirty happened

also, Peluso played well....like on the ice as a player. The fourth line had a great cycle and forcheck game going against one of the deepest teams in the league.

Nice to not have a whoa is me coach. Sure feels like Peters knows how to properly rally the troops and make great mid game adjustments vs. the last guy.

That save on Goldobin on Saturday night gave Smith the swagger back. He looked completely different in the five periods before that huge save.

You are missing the point. Just because a guy is in the lineup and a win happens doesn't mean that he's responsible for it. I didn't see any non-Pred-like play because they were scared or something. They were hitting and hacking as much as usual.

So you question the accuracy of the shot count based on how you felt about the game?

Oh, I agree. I just don't think Peluso being a tough guy had much to do with either the Preds' play or Calgary's good play. I think it was all about team speed.

If Peluso can be a skating contributor, great. A heavy forechecking guy on the fourth line is just fine with me.

I feel like they may have been a little generous with counting shots is all. It really didn't seem like Smith or the defense were all that busy, though they were strong when they needed to be.

Valimaki in particular, wow he's making so many smart plays in the d-zone.
