What team you watching?
Has he looked like an nhl calibre top 9 winger? It's only been two games, and Dube is going to be a rock star one day but in my view he's not ready yet. If he doesn't look like a top-9 centre, I'd bet that he's going down to Stockton soon.

I am not too worried about Jankowski sitting out a game if that happens. Even Gaudreau was scratched in his rookie season. And when he came back in, he took off and never looked back. Sometimes watching the game and seeing the big picture can be a good learning experience for a player.

(And I know Jankowski isn't technically a rookie anymore, but he also isn't an established NHL player yet)

I honestly think this is what happens on deep teams. Someone has to sit now and then to get a popcorn muncher some playing time or they get too stale.

This time it's Jankowski and I wouldn't read too too much into it.

Exactly, how many years have we wanted actual accountability.

Do something to get noticed or they can try another guy to see if they can.

Internal competition is great, especially now that there's some depth to enforce this style.

I think splitting janko and Bennett will do wonders for both. Together they've grown stale. Neither can get their playmaking game going enough to help the other so they pot the odd goal on individual plays once in a while and that's the way it's been for half a season. Getting Bennett with totally new guys will be interesting.

agree with this: think Bennett and Janko will benefit by having a change of line mates.

Bennett has all the tools, but having trouble putting it together, so i think Calgary needs to try some other things with him

When they get through the next 5 games 4 playoff teams and St. L it will be time for getting excited.

Except you still have no one who is a threat to beat a goalie clean from 20 feet

I actually think Dube has looked quite good in his limited minutes. Skates well, works for the puck, tries to create and has only made one dumb giveaway that I've noticed.

A bit surprised some think he should be sent down.

Dube has looked fine in my opinion also.

Excited to see what he and his new linemates can muster!

You must have missed something. . . . I'm saying if you have Neal in front, not on the half boards, you have no one to beat a goalie from 20 feet

This always drives me nuts. Keeping the lineup the same after a win tells me the coach doesn't know why they won the game

Jankowski was basically a non factor in the second half of the year. I don’t get the love in this board. He is not very good. Yet.

100% agree Janko needs better wingers.

That would be awesome if Dube and Bennett found some chemistry and became a pair.

Maybe this is the right decision to try and give him a jumpstart!?
And how many goals have Bennett and Hathaway scored in that time....Janko has set up his wingers but the can’t finish. Perhaps Janko might be better on the wing if they moved him up the line up.

There is definitely a bias in favour of younger players by many on CP. Jankowski has been pretty uninspiring in the first 2 games. No problem with him sitting the next game.

I'm guessing a good hockey analyst.
