Difference between tough and flat out wide open goals... #2 maybe but the rest just trash defense

Good to see its the same old Flames.
I look forward to their run in Nov to get back into the race before they collapse down the stretch yet again.
What a garbage team/franchise.

Ya know, maybe the players didn’t like Bob Hartley. But they sure as hell played a better brand of hockey under him. I think, somehow, the Flames got sucked into this analytics bull#### and have hired coaches based on possession numbers. The players look like they are thinking to hard and not just playing on instinct. And they look awful playing this way.

There is no ref or commentator bias Flames just aren't bringing the effort and tenacity that winning teams have. In addition to a goaltender playing no better than average.

The over passing by the Flames when they should be shooting is getting ridiculous. Enough with the perfect play, just get pucks on the net!

Flames have been the far better team outside of goal tending

Fairly happy with what I’m seeing minus the goaltending (which is big) and the officiating which has been pretty special tonight.
They are also still over passing a bunch.

What is the opposite of the “why don’t we have both” taco kid meme?
Yeah, how about a real NHL coach instead.

I would be happy if Smith was even average right now. I would say putrid is a better description

Especially from guys like Neal. Shooting is what you do. Do it. You did it in the first a bit, but stopped for some reason. Just snipe it

#1 Goaltender

Exactly. Markstrom has made plenty of saves in these games where the flames should have scored. That’s what #1 NHL goalies are paid millions of dollars to do. If smith only stopped the easy saves and got a pass on every goal that was a legitimate scoring chance, then the team might as well have a junior B goalie in net.
